    • A sliver opening device for an open-end spinning unit (1) with an opening cylinder (21) which rotates in an opening-cylinder housing (17) and comprises a base (29) arranged on a bearing shaft (26) with a replaceable annulus (30) of card-clothing fitted onto the base (29). The annulus (30) is held between an abutment flange (31) of the base (29) and a cover disk (33) of an enlarged diameter. The housing (17) and the cover disk (33) have mating stepped regions (45) at their outer circumferences to enclose and generally seal the housing. A visor-like shield (50) is arranged at a distance in front of the cover disk (33) to protect the cover disk from being touched inadvertently.

    • An open-end spinning apparatus (1) has a spinning rotor (4) rotating in a vacuum-applied rotor housing (2) closed by a conduit plate (37) with a sliver opening device (51) delivering individualized spinning fibers into the rotor housing through a fiber guide conduit device (14) connecting the sliver opening device (51) to the conduit plate (37). The fiber guide conduit device (14) is replaceably supported in a connection bore (31) of the sliver opening housing (17). The fiber guide conduit device (14) is a cast part comprising a fiber guide conduit body (43) with a position fixing device (34) to assure a given mounting position with respect to the opening housing, a cylindrical foot having a groove (36) receiving an O-ring (35) for sealing with respect to the opening housing, and a contact shoulder (41) to support a hose nozzle (38) for sealing with respect to the conduit plate.

    • The invention relates to a fiber guide channel for an open-end spinning device and to a method for producing such a fiber guide channel. Fiber guide channels are known per se and serve for the pneumatic transport of individual fibers which are combed out of a feed fiber assembly by an opening cylinder that rotates in an opening cylinder housing, to a spinning rotor running at high speed in a rotor housing that can be subjected to a negative pressure. According to the invention, the fiber guide channel (13) is configured as a hollow body whose internal diameter decreases towards its orifice (26). The fiber guide channel (13) is produced according to a method of manufacturing wherein a first over-sized blank shape is produced by injection molding from a mixture of a sinterable material and a binder. Said blank is converted to a porous intermediate shape by removing the binder and brought into a final shape which requires little finishing by sintering.
