The elongated aperture 11 allows the portion 16 between the apertures 11 and 14 to deflect when the pin 21 travels between recesses 15 in one side of aperture 14 thereby providing a bias against the coupling ring 1 that helps to prevent accidental uncoupling of the housings 2 and 3.

摘要： An electrical coupling assembly is disclosed having a receptacle portion attached to an electrical connector element and releasably attached to a housing, affixed to the opposite electrical connector portion, by engagement of a latching ball on the housing with a latching detent formed on the receptacle. Axial movement of an operating sleeve, with respect to the housing facilitates the coupling and decoupling of the housing and the receptacle. The operating sleeve is spring biased to assume a position with respect to the housing retaining the coupling portions together. A force exerted on a lanyard attached to the sleeve axially moves the sleeve with respect to the housing to decouple the coupling elements. A lanyard guide ring is attached to the housing and has an opening through which the lanyard passes such that the portion of the lanyard extending between the guide ring and the operating sleeve extends in a generally axial direction. The direction of force exerted on the sleeve by the lanyard will always be in a substantially axial direction. The coupling includes a mechanism for disengaging the electrical connector portions before allowing the coupling elements to separate.

The first connector assembly is characterized by at least one resiliently deflectable and rearwardly extending projection 31 that mates with a notch 21 in the coupling ring 20 to prevent rotation of the coupling ring when it is connected to the second connector housing. An outer ring 10 is used to unlock the coupling ring and allow rotation when the coupling ring 10 is pushed forward against the coupling ring 20 and a forward projection 11 on the outer ring 10 enters the notch 21 in the coupling ring 20 and forcing the housing projection 31 out of the notch so that when the outer ring 10 is rotated the coupling ring 20 will also rotate.
