    • The present invention is an arthropod trap including a housing and containment chamber. The housing includes external openings, an overhang, and an internal tube and plate with entry ports. Attracted by bait in the containment chamber, arthropods fly in through the external openings, and then travel through the entry ports in the plate into the containment chamber. Alternatively, arthropods can directly enter the containment chamber through optional entry ports. The containment chamber can be a box or other rigid container, or a bag. This trap can be used to contain or monitor the populations of many different types of flying arthropods, including but not limited to flies, wasps, and yellow jackets.

    • In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a method of pest management and crop certification of crops by a grower. The method includes gathering pest sampling data in connection with a crop of the grower, the pest sampling data including locational information thereof. The gathered pest sampling data is transmitted to a pest sampling database. The pest sampling database includes pest sampling data regarding respective crops from a plurality of other growers. The pest sampling database is in electrical communication with pest management analysis software for generation of pest management analysis which is received by the grower. The crop is harvested and a crop certification is received regarding the crop based upon the generated pest management analysis.

    • The present invention discloses systems and methods for controlling arthropod populations. The systems include a polymeric substrate, a semiochemical that is reactive upon an adult-stage arthropod, and an insecticide that is toxic to an immature-stage arthropod. The semiochemical may be a sex pheromone that disrupts mating behavior of the adult-stage arthropod. The insecticide may be a per os insecticide that only affects the immature-stage arthropod. The arthropod to be controlled may be gypsy moths, in which case the semiochemical may be disparlure and the insecticide may be spinosad. Further disclosed are methods for preparing systems for use in controlling arthropod populations.
