    • A system for calculating one or more dimensions of an animal. The system comprises at least three fiducial reference points, each having different X, Y, and Z coordinates in 3-dimensional space. In addition, the system further comprises at least two sensors for obtaining dimensional measurements of the fiducial reference points and the animal from at least two different fields of view. In one embodiment, the at least two different fields of view are at least a side view and a top view. The system also comprises a processing system configured to receive the dimensional measurements from the at least two sensors and calculate one or more dimensions of the animal by relating positions of animal features to known locations of the fiducial reference points. The system also may create and measure a 3-dimensional image of the animal.

    • An edge content delivery device for an Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) system and corresponding content delivery system are disclosed. The edge content delivery device comprises: a requesting apparatus for requesting media contents from other edge content delivery devices; a receiving apparatus for receiving media contents distributed by a central content delivery device, for receiving media contents from the other edge content delivery devices, and for receiving media contents ingested directly from a content source of a content provider; a storage apparatus for storing the received media contents; a controlling apparatus for managing the stored media contents based on a predetermined content management policy; a deleting apparatus for deleting the media contents from the storage apparatus according to an instruction from the controlling apparatus; and a streaming apparatus for streaming the requested media contents to an end user according to an instruction from the controlling apparatus, and in response to a request from another edge content delivery device, delivering the requested media contents to the requesting edge content delivery device.

    • Method for streaming video content from a video server entity to a client entity via a core network and an aggregation network connected through an edge node. The server entity can be either the origin server or a serving node in a CDN that acts as a surrogate server. The video content is offered by the video server entity as a set of consecutive fragments (or chunks or segments), each fragment of this set of consecutive fragments being offered in a plurality of quality levels corresponding to respective encoded bit rates. The method comprises the steps of: transmitting via the network from said client entity to said video server entity via said edge node one or more requests for fragments with a target quality level of said video content to be displayed at said client entity; and receiving at said client entity via said network one or more replies to the requests containing fragments with said target quality levels. The method further comprises the steps of said edge node evaluating the available throughput for said client entity to transmit said fragments to said client entity over said aggregation network and said edge node informing said client entity about said available throughput.
