    • In known large round balers, a rotating side wall is provided that can be pivoted away from a baling chamber either in a straight line or about a pivot axis, so that the pressure on the end faces of the cylindrical bale is reduced during the unloading process. A large round baler is proposed in which a support structure provided with rolls for supporting one or more flexible bale-forming elements, which can be pivoted about a pivot axle that penetrates the side walls of the baling chamber. At least one side wall is provided with a ramp having an inclined surface which is ramped outwardly from the side wall from top to bottom. The support structure is provided with an abutment member that can slide on the surface of the ramp so as to move from bottom to top when the support structure is raised to effect a discharge of a formed bale. The ramp is maintained in engagement with the abutment member, which travels in a vertical plane, due to outward deflection of the side wall, which results in a decrease of the force applied by the side wall on the bale and the frictional force resisting movement of the bale relative to the wall so as to aid in the discharge of the formed bale from the baling chamber.

    • A bale unloading arrangement of a large round baler includes a bale take-up device mounted to a carrier which is in turn mounted to the axle of the baler for vertical pivoting movement beneath the baling chamber of the baler. A spring is mounted between the carrier and the axle for keeping the carrier in an elevated position until a completed bale is discharged onto the carrier. The carrier is shaped such that the bale take-up device, which is mounted for movement along the carrier, moves down the carrier to the rear and into a position for gently depositing the bale on the ground. The bale take-up device includes an upper bale-receiving structure that may be selectively pivoted about a fore-and-aft axis so as to deposit a bale on its end, and the carrier is mounted for being shifted sideways so that a bale deposited in this manner may be deposited outside the path traveled by the baler.

    • A baler and wrapper combination comprises a baler, a bale wrapper, and a bale transport table.     • A round baler has an overshot secondary rotor located behind an undershot precutter rotor. The round baler has a relatively wide swath crop pick-up and a baling chamber with a significantly more narrow inlet. The precutter rotor has a central region supporting a plurality of rotatable crop conveying members interleaved by both a set of relatively fixed cutting blades and a set of relatively fixed strippers for urging cut crop away from the rotor, and end regions supporting rotatable helically disposed bands for receiving wide swath crop from the pick-up arrangement and urging the received crop toward the central region. The secondary rotor creates an S-shaped or serpentine crop path with minimal dead space and is a positive feeder for bale starting. Stationary strippers for the secondary rotor prevent crop from exiting the baler behind the secondary rotor.

    • A tractor comprises a tractor frame, driven ground engaging means, and an electronic tractor controller. A baler comprises a baler frame coupled or connected to the tractor frame, a crop receiving means, a baling chamber, a bale size sensor associated with the baling chamber, and an electronic baler controller. The baler controller is operable to submit a halt signal to the tractor controller when a bale size signal provided by the bale size sensor indicates that a bale has reached a size equal to or exceeding a first predetermined size. The tractor controller is operable to command the ground engaging means to automatically halt the tractor when receiving a halt signal from the baler controller. A steering controller is connected to a swath position sensor and operable to automatically steer the tractor along a swath based upon the signals of the crop swath sensor and of the bale shape sensor such that a uniform bale shape is obtained.
