    • In embodiments herein one or more cams are operatively connected to corresponding ones of idler rollers within nip drive assemblies. As the cams rotate, the cams move the idler rollers between a first position biased against the drive rollers and a second position out of contact with the drive rollers. A camshaft is operatively connected to the cams, and the camshaft is operatively connected to a clutch driven by the drive motor/axle of the nip drive assembly. One feature of embodiments herein is that the camshaft (and consequently the cams themselves) is rotated by the clutch only when the drive axle rotates in a reverse direction opposite the forward direction. Thus, the forward movement of the drive axle moves media through the drive nips and reverse movement of the drive axle rotates the cams, thereby controlling the position of the idler rollers.

    • An impact pulley apparatus and method are provided for use with a high-speed media processing apparatus by driven attachment to the rotatable shaft of a motor associated therewith to absorb impact energy caused by the high-speed media processing apparatus encountering media to be conveyed. The impact pulley apparatus includes a base plate for mounting on the rotatable shaft such that rotation of the shaft causes identical and simultaneous rotation of the base plate. A pulley member is operatively connected to the base plate by biasing members which are springs in the preferred embodiment such that the pulley member is substantially identically rotatable with rotation of the base plate in one direction in a non-actuated position until an amount of impact energy is encountered by the pulley member sufficient for the pulley member to biasedly rotate in the same direction less than the base plate in an actuated position of the impact pulley apparatus in order to absorb the impact energy.

    • An ink delivery and recovery system includes a first reservoir for containing ink for delivery to a plurality of ink jets of an imaging device, a second reservoir spaced apart from the first reservoir for containing ink for delivery to the first reservoir, and a third reservoir for capturing ink emitted from the plurality of ink jets. A first conduit is connected to the first reservoir and configured to permit flow of ink in a single direction toward the first reservoir. A second conduit is connected to the third reservoir and configured to permit flow of ink in a single direction away from the third reservoir. A third conduit is connected between the second reservoir and the first conduit and second conduit, the third conduit being configured to permit bidirectional flow of ink from the second reservoir toward the first and second conduits and from the first and second conduits toward the second reservoir. A bidirectional pump is associated with the third conduit.
