    • An outboard motor includes an exhaust passage, a catalyst member, and a water capture member. The exhaust passage includes a first passage, a second passage, a third passage, and a fourth passage. The first passage is connected to exhaust ports, extends in a vertical direction, and collects exhaust discharged from the exhaust ports. The second passage extends laterally from the first passage. The third passage is connected to the second passage, extends downward from the second passage, and is disposed on a side of cylinders of an engine. The fourth passage is connected to the third passage, is positioned below the engine, and guides the exhaust to below the engine. The fourth passage discharges exhaust to the outside via a propeller boss of a propeller. The catalyst member is disposed in the third passage. The water capture member is disposed downstream of the catalyst member in the third passage.

    • The presser foot device of a sewing machine comprises a presser foot 2, a tension mechanism 3 disposed on the presser foot 2 and having a presser member 6 which is adjustably movable back and forth, a guide member 4 provided at a tip end portion of the presser foot 2, wherein a given gap .DELTA. is formed between the presser member 6 of the tension mechanism 3 and the guide member 4, and wherein a belt-shaped rubber member 8 supplied toward a needle penetration point N of the presser foot 2 is passed through the given gap .DELTA., thereby giving a given tension to the belt-shaped rubber member 8. As a result, it is possible to provide a presser foot device of a sewing machine capable of easily, stably and variably setting tension applied to a belt-shaped rubber member, thereby improving the quality of the sewn product and to improve the operability of mounting the belt-shaped rubber member therein by ensuring a large opening space.
