    • Disclosed herein is an object image capture apparatus. The object image capture apparatus includes a first camera unit, a second camera unit, and a control unit. The first camera unit obtains a wide-area view image by capturing a wide-area view region. The second camera unit obtains a close-up view image by capturing the close-up view region of the wide-area view region. The control unit controls the second camera unit by dividing the wide-area view image into a plurality of blocks, analyzing the resulting blocks, and defining a target block, in which a moving object is detected, as a close-up view region from among the plurality of blocks.

    • A multi-image acquisition apparatus for use in a biometrics system includes a light splitting filter for reflecting or transmitting multi-image lights representing an image of a target subject provided along an identical light path into different bands; a first image sensor for imaging an iris area by capturing a fraction of the multi-image light which has been transmitted through the light splitting filter; and a second image sensor for imaging a facial area by capturing a fraction of the multi-image light which has been reflected from the light splitting filter. The apparatus further includes a control module for controlling the first image sensor and the second image sensor and providing the images obtained by the first sensor and second sensor for image recognition.

    • An apparatus for determining a fake image includes an image-acquiring block for acquiring an image captured by and input from a camera; and a background-learning block for learning a background of the image to create a learning background. Further, the apparatus for determining the fake image includes a face extracting-block for extracting a face region of a person to be authenticated when an input image for authentication is transmitted from the camera; and an inter-background comparing block for comparing a present background of an input image with the learning background. Furthermore, the apparatus for determining the fake image includes a motion information-comparing block for extracting motion information in the face region and the present background to compare the same with each other; and a fake image-determining block for determining whether the input image is faked using the compared results of the motion information and the backgrounds.

    • Provided is an apparatus and method for automatically controlling power of a video appliance. The apparatus for automatically controlling power of a video appliance includes an image input unit for capturing a viewer's posture, a posture detection unit for detecting posture information from the image captured by the image input unit, a horizontal-level calculation unit for calculating a horizontal level by using the posture information detected by the posture detection unit and comparing the calculated horizontal level with a preset reference horizontal level, an alert-sound output unit for outputting an alert sound corresponding to the horizontal level compared by the horizontal-level calculation unit; and a power-signal transceiver unit for outputting a power-off signal to the video appliance corresponding to the horizontal level compared by the horizontal-level calculation unit. Accordingly, upright posture of viewers watching the video appliance can be ensured since a viewer's posture is detected and power of the video appliance is automatically controlled according to the detected posture.
