    • A multi-image acquisition apparatus for use in a biometrics system includes a light splitting filter for reflecting or transmitting multi-image lights representing an image of a target subject provided along an identical light path into different bands; a first image sensor for imaging an iris area by capturing a fraction of the multi-image light which has been transmitted through the light splitting filter; and a second image sensor for imaging a facial area by capturing a fraction of the multi-image light which has been reflected from the light splitting filter. The apparatus further includes a control module for controlling the first image sensor and the second image sensor and providing the images obtained by the first sensor and second sensor for image recognition.

    • An apparatus for determining a fake image includes an image-acquiring block for acquiring an image captured by and input from a camera; and a background-learning block for learning a background of the image to create a learning background. Further, the apparatus for determining the fake image includes a face extracting-block for extracting a face region of a person to be authenticated when an input image for authentication is transmitted from the camera; and an inter-background comparing block for comparing a present background of an input image with the learning background. Furthermore, the apparatus for determining the fake image includes a motion information-comparing block for extracting motion information in the face region and the present background to compare the same with each other; and a fake image-determining block for determining whether the input image is faked using the compared results of the motion information and the backgrounds.

    • Provided a secure pattern recognition method. The method includes: receiving data and generating a probe by converting the received data into a template for pattern recognition; accessing a gallery that is a template registered and stored in advance; determining a region to which the probe belongs and obtaining the center point of the region; obtaining a hash value of the center point and coordinate of the probe; and determining whether or not the hash value of the center point and a hash value stored in the gallery are equal and determining whether or not the probe and the gallery are classified into the same class by calculating whether or not the coordinate of the probe is inside a decision boundary configured with thresholds on the basis of the coordinates of the center point.

    • Provided is a biometric authentication method. A biometric authentication method in accordance with an aspect of the present invention includes generating a first one-time authentication template from biometric information using one-time transform information, and requesting authentication, comparing the first one-time authentication template with a one-time registration template, updating the one-time registration template and the one-time transform information when authentication is achieved according to a result of the comparison, wherein the updated one-time transform information is used to generate a second one-time authentication template to be authenticated according to the result of the comparison with the updated one-time registration template when successive authentication is requested.
