    • A turbo-machine including a volute casing, a rotating shaft, an impeller, seals, an axial thrust control member and a bellows unit. The volute casing defines therein a fluid passage. The rotating shaft is rotatably provided in the volute casing. The impeller is coupled to the rotating shaft to draw fluid using centrifugal force. The seals are provided around the front and rear ends of the impeller to prevent leakage of fluid. The axial thrust control member is installed in the volute casing behind the impeller. The bellows unit includes the piston installed in the volute casing in a shape surrounding a circumferential outer surface of the axial thrust control member; and a bellows connected with one surface of the piston, the bellows having the predetermined elasticity; and an internal space, between the piston and the volute casing, isolated from the fluid drawn behind the impeller.

    • Disclosed is an MPEG data frame and a transmitting and receiving system using the MPEG data frame for enhancing receiving performance of receiver which moves or is stationary. The digital TV broadcasting data frame according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a data frame which includes at least one data field which has 313 data segments. The first data segment of the data field is a data field sync signal which includes a training data sequence used for synchronization at the receiver, and the other 312 data segments each include a 188-byte transport packet and 20-byte error correction data. Therefore, when null packets are input to the 8 VSB transmitter, 2-level training sync signals are used as training data for an equalizer at the receiver so as to increase receiving performance of a receiver that moves or is stationary.

    • A HDTV receiver which is improved in its overall performance and is simplified in its configuration, by improving a symbol timing restoring circuit, includes a tuner for selecting a necessary channel from input signals via an antenna, an IF processing & carrier restoring portion for performing an IF process & carrier restoration from the output of the tuner, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for converting the output of the IF processing & carrier restoring portion into a digital signal, a timing restoring portion for restoring a timing from the output of the ADC, a 2:1 down-sampler for 2:1 down-sampling the output of the ADC, a sync detector for detecting a sync from the output of the 2:1 down-sampler, a channel equalizer for performing a channel equalization from the output of the 2:1 down-sampler, a phase controller for correcting the phase error from the output of the channel equalizer, an optimal viterbi decoder for performing a viterbi decoding operation from the output of the phase controller, a deinterleaver for dissipating the output of the optimal viterbi decoder in order to enhance the correction capability due to burst errors, an error controller for performing a Reed-Solomon decoding operation with respect to the output of the deinterleaver, and a derandomizer for releasing the output of the error controller and restoring a signal randomly formed at a transmission port reversely.
