    • A controller with a multi-function pin, adapted to control a converting circuit according to a control signal for converting an input voltage into an output voltage, is disclosed. The controller has the multi-function pin, an enable unit, an over-current detecting unit and a logic control unit. The enable unit is coupled to the multi-function pin for receiving an enable signal and activates the controller in response to the enable signal. The over-current detecting is coupled to the multi-function pin and determines an over-current value according to an over-current set resistance coupled between the multi-function pin and a voltage source. The over-current detecting unit generates an over-current protection signal according to the over-current value and a current flowing through the converting circuit. The logic control unit determines whether executing an over-current protection according to the over-current protection signal.

    • A non-linear load driving circuit and a controller for controlling a conversion circuit to drive a non-linear load are provided. The controller includes a feedback unit, a pulse width control unit, and an overshoot reduction unit. The feedback unit generates a feedback signal according to a current feedback signal that represents a load current flowing through the non-linear load. The pulse width control unit generates a control signal according to the feedback signal to control a power output of the conversion circuit. The overshoot reduction unit generates an overshoot reduction signal when the load current changes from being smaller than to being greater than a predetermined value according to the current feedback signal. The pulse width control unit receives the overshoot reduction signal and reduces the duty cycle of the control signal accordingly. Thereby, stability of feedback control is improved and damage to circuit is prevented.

Compared with the method of using low-pass filters with large capacitors to filter noises, highly increasing the cost of the circuit is unnecessary in the embodiment of the invention. The circuit in the embodiment of the invention also has the capability for filtering noises with high amplitudes. In addition, by setting suitable parameters, the circuit in the embodiment of the invention can also avoid affecting the transient response of the circuit while filtering noises.

    • A battery charging controlling apparatus for balancing voltages of the charged batteries is provided. The battery charging controlling includes a battery reference voltage generating unit, a voltage balancing unit, and a balance judging unit. The battery charging controlling apparatus determines whether a battery voltage difference between any two adjacent battery units of a battery module is too large or not by using a reference voltage provided from the battery reference voltage generating unit. The battery charging controlling apparatus further detects the voltage of the battery module and a charging current thereto to determine a suitable time for balancing the charged batteries. Then, the voltage balancing unit controlled by the balance judging unit allows the charging current of the lower-voltage battery unit greater than the charging current of the higher-voltage battery, unit so as to lower the battery voltage difference of the battery units.

    • The present invention discloses a battery charging controller for balancing the charged batteries. The battery charging controller comprises a battery reference voltage generator, a voltage balancing module and a balance judging circuit. The battery charging controller determines which one has the lower voltage between battery units of a battery module according to reference voltages generated by the battery reference voltage generator. The voltage balancing module controlled by the balance judging circuit allows the charging current of the lower-voltage battery larger than the charging current of the higher-voltage battery in such that the final voltages of the battery units are substantially equaled when they are completely saturated.
