    • An exemplary method for measuring workpieces is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: measuring a workpiece; recording the measuring procedures of the workpiece; generating procedure codes according to the measuring procedures; storing the procedure codes in a program file; generating a measuring program by compiling the procedure codes and saving corresponding procedure commands of the compiled program file in a measuring program command package; and measuring a same type of workpieces by executing the procedure commands of the measuring program command package. By utilizing the present invention, the same type of workpieces can be measured automatically, measuring time can be reduced, and measuring efficiency can be enhanced.

    • An identifying system is provided for identifying a geometrical element in an image automatically. The image may be retrieved from an image capturing apparatus and is imported in a coordinate system. The identifying system includes: a collecting module for collecting dots from the image as a dot muster and retrieving coordinates of all dots of the dot muster from the coordinate system; a curve fitting and geometrical element identifying module for curve fitting according to the coordinates of all the dots of the dot muster to identify what geometrical element the dot muster is; a storing module for storing the coordinates of all the dots of the dot muster, data produced during the curve fitting process, and result data of curve fitting and geometrical element identifying; and an outputting module for outputting the result data. A related identifying method is also provided.

    • A method for controlling operations of a measuring machine is provided. The method includes the steps of: clearing faults when there are the faults occur in a measuring machine; sending a restart instruction via a control card to the measuring machine for controlling the movable arm to return to an initial position in relation to an X-axis, a Y-axis and a Z-axis directions; sending a move instruction comprising information of a final position to the control card; executing the move instruction; calculating a current position of the movable arm according to a count tracked by a raster ruler; determining whether the movable arm locates at the final position of the measuring machine according to the count; and controlling the movable arm to move along the measuring machine by executing a next move instruction, if the movable arm locates at the final position. A related system is also disclosed.
