    • An apparatus and method for generating reference timings. Each of at least two Node Bs transmits a first channel signal for providing a reference timing and a second channel signal different from the first channel signal and a UE has a plurality of fingers for demodulating the first channel signals. A first timing generator receives an SFN of a reference Node B having a communication link established with the UE, selects a first channel FB timing from a reference finger, and generates an SFN reference timing based on the SFN and the selected first channel FB timing. A second timing generator generates a second channel FB timing to demodulate the second channel signal of the reference Node B from the selected first channel FB timing through offset control. A third timing generator generates an uplink channel FB timing having a predetermined offset from the second channel FB timing.

    • An apparatus deblock filters in a digital moving picture processing system with a macro block having a predetermined number of pixel blocks. An external memory controller reads a current sub-block of a current macro block from entire image data stored in an external memory, and delivers image data of an internal pixel block constituting the current sub-block and an external pixel block to a filter-dedicated memory. The filter-dedicated memory stores the delivered image data. A filtering operator performs horizontal filtering on the current sub-block using the stored image data according to a predetermined order, and performs vertical filtering on the current sub-block according to a predetermined order when the horizontal filtering is completed.     • A method and an apparatus are provided for managing cell-by-cell demodulation timing of an asynchronous user equipment (UE) for demodulating multipath signals, received from a plurality of cells, in a plurality of fingers. Mapping information, indicating fingers mapped on a cell-by-cell basis, and demodulation information and demodulation timing information for the plurality of cells are acquired. The fingers are grouped on a cell-by-cell basis according to the mapping information. Demodulation information for an associated cell is provided to each of the grouped fingers. A signal received from the associated cell is demodulated in the grouped fingers by using the demodulation information for the associated cell. System load and costs can be reduced by managing demodulation timings on a cell-by-cell basis in the UE that simultaneously perform data transmission/reception with the cells in which transmission timings are different from each other in a soft handover situation in an asynchronous mobile telecommunication system.

    • A high speed input buffer device for a turbo decoder and an input method thereof are provided. The input buffer device comprises a combing buffer for outputting stored symbols based on read addresses; a write MUX for dividing the output symbols into systematic, parity-1, and parity-2 symbols based on a BitSel signal, and outputting the divided symbols, first and second de-first rate matchers for individually performing a de-first rate matching operation with respect to the parity-1 and parity-2 symbols output from the write MUX, a data conversion unit generating code words, each of which contains a systematic symbol, a parity-1 symbol, and a parity-2 symbol, by using the systematic symbols output from the write MUX and the de-first-rate-matched parity-1 and parity-2 symbols, an input buffer unit having a double buffer structure, containing code blocks corresponding to the plurality of turbo decoders, storing each of the code words in a memory area of a code block corresponding to a decoder distinction signal which represents one of the turbo decodes, and outputting the stored code words to relevant turbo decoders, and a buffer controller for providing the input buffer unit with the decoder distinction signal, and providing the write MUX with the BitSel signal for dividing the output symbols into systematic, parity-1, and parity-2 symbols. Since the number and the area of memory elements required for the input control for a decoder are reduced, processing time, the error occurrence rate upon realizing the chip, and power consumption can be reduced.
