    • Apparatus for perforating a moving receiver includes perforating devices, each with two parallel perforating wheels and a pressure wheel arranged so that the perforating wheels are pressed laterally against the pressure wheel to define two perforating areas and a chad area arranged laterally between the perforating areas. A drive mechanism rotates the perforating or pressure wheels to perforate the moving receiver parallel to its feed direction in the perforating areas, whereby one or more proto-chads are defined on the receiver. A transport mechanism selectively moves the plurality of perforating devices perpendicular to the feed direction of the receiver. A controller receives a job specification including two or more specified perforation locations and causes the transport mechanism to laterally position two or more of the plurality of perforating devices to perforate the moving receiver in the specified perforation locations.

    • Electrophotographic printers and cleaning systems for an electrostatic imaging member are provided. In one aspect the cleaning system has a scraper a mounting holding the scraper so that a free length of the scraper extends from the mounting and a frame positioning the mounting relative to the electrostatic imaging member so that the scraper extends along a holding angle toward the electrostatic imaging member and so that the mounting is separated from the electrostatic imaging member by an extension distance along the holding angle that is less than the free length with the scraper resiliently deflecting to fit within the extension distance to define a working angle where the scraper contacts the electrostatic imaging member. The extension distance is within a range of extension distances that cause the scraper to have a working angle that is within a range of working angles are greater than the working angles of an alternative range of working angles if the scraper were to be positioned within an alternative range of extension distances that is greater than the range of extension distances.

    • Decurling a charged sheet and removing charge from the charged sheet prior to stacking, includes forming a nip between a roller and a compliant surface and applying pressure between the roller and compliant surface so that the nip has a decurling shape and when the nip engages the sheet it will perform a decurling function; and moving the charged sheet through the nip while the compliant surface has an AC voltage applied thereto so that a first side of the charged sheet is in contact with the compliant surface and has its charge substantially dissipated, whereby charge substantially remains on a second side of the charged sheet in contact with the roller and curling of the charged sheet is reduced. The method further includes using at least one non-contact charge removal device to remove charge from the second side of the charged sheet; and stacking the discharged sheet.

    • A method for adjusting an extent of contact between a fountain roller mounted within a pivotable ink pan and an anilox roller in a flexographic printing system, the pivotable ink pan being adapted to pivot around a pivot axis disposed proximate to a first end of the pivotable ink pan. The pivotable ink pan is positioned to provide a predetermined gap between the anilox roller and the fountain roller by inserting a shim between the fountain roller and the anilox roller. The position of the pivotable ink pan is adjusted by adjusting a height of a distal portion of the pivotable ink pan by a predetermined amount that is known to close the predetermined gap to a desired extent. The position of the pivotable ink pan is then locked such that the distal portion of the pivotable ink pan is maintained at the adjusted height.
