    • An apparatus for viewing originals in a flatbed scanner includes a fixed copy holder and a movable scanning unit with a light source for illuminating the original to be scanned, an optoelectronic transducer, and a scanning lens for projecting a scanned line of the original onto the optoelectronic transducer. Fitted below the copy holder is a light source, and fastened on the scanning unit is a dispersion foil drawn under the copy holder by the scanning unit when the scanning unit is brought into a parking position and drawn away by the scanning unit when the scanning unit is moved over the copy holder during scanning. The dispersion foil is stretched tight by a suitable stretching apparatus when the scanning unit is in the parking position.

    • An apparatus for handling printing plates contains at least one image-setting device and a frame that at least partially encloses the image-setting device. The image-setting device is decoupled from the frame via decoupling feet that stand on the floor through cutouts in the frame. If the image-setting device is decoupled from the frame, it is problematic or at least time-consuming to align the image-setting device and the frame with respect to one another. Alignment is particularly necessary when the frame contains further processing stations and transport systems. Simpler and more rapid alignment can be achieved by at least one guiding alignment element assisting the alignment of the image-setting device and of the frame with respect to one another.

    • An apparatus and method for automatically clamping film material onto the recording drum of a reproduction device and for releasing the film material exposed by a recording element from the recording drum. The apparatus has a roll film cassette introducible into a light tight portion of the reproduction device. Conveyor and guide surfaces are provided between the roll film cassette and the recording drum. A film length measuring means, a pressure means having a lowerable pressure roller for the film sheets, a positioning drive for turning the recording drum into a start of clamping, start of exposure and start of release position, and a lift-off means having a lowerable lift-off finger for peeling the exposed film sheets from the recording drum are all provided. The film sheets are fixed on the recording drum by vacuum. Large-area film material from a roll film cassette can be clamped onto the recording drum with this apparatus without the formation of folds and without warping.

If printing plates having a particularly large format are required to set images on them in an exposer, loading cassettes for a magazine of cassettes is at least problematic. Therefore, a tray is moved out of a storage device via an adjacent lifting device into the lower region of the storage device, and is fed there to a drawer which can be moved out of the storage device. If the tray is situated on the drawer, the latter can be moved by an operator in a second horizontal direction out of the handling apparatus, in particular out of the storage device. In this position, the tray can then be loaded in an ergonomically favorable manner.

    • An apparatus for separating printing plates which are separated from one another in a stack, preferably individually by intermediate layers, has a lifting device for raising a printing plate or an intermediate layer from the stack. The apparatus further has a separating device for the intermediate layers, in particular as a constituent part of a loading device of a unit for setting images on printing plates. The separating device is configured as a rocker which can be pivoted onto the lifting device and can be pivoted away from the lifting device and contains suction elements and one drivable transport roller. An adhering intermediate layer is pulled off from the printing plate with the suction elements, and the intermediate layer is transported away with the transport roller.

    • The invention is directed to a device for clamping sheet-shaped film material onto the recording drum of a reproduction device and is directed to the operation of this device. The recording drum comprises axially proceeding suction-hole rows for the vacuum-fixing of the recording material. Suction channels, each of which connects the suction holes of a suction hole row to one another, proceed in the wall of the recording drum. A vacuum distributor controllable by the rotational movement of the recording drum is arranged in the recording drum, this controllable vacuum distributor selectively bringing the individual suction channels, the corresponding suction hole rows into communication with a stationary vacuum pump. The vacuum distributor is controllable such that that suction hole row on which the starting region of the recording material lies is first charged with vacuum during the clamping event. As a result thereof, a high initial vacuum is achieved, as a result whereof the recording material does not slip. Further suction hole rows are then successively cut-in in accordance with the increasing wrap of the rotating recording drum by the recording material and are charged with vacuum. The cut-in of further suction hole rows is ended in accordance with the respective circumferential length of the recording material at that suction hole row on which the end region of the recording material lies. In particular, large-format recording material can be clamped onto the recording drum without creating folds and warping, and can be reliably fixed thereat with the device.
