    • An energy dissipation device (1) is provided for a car body of a multi-element vehicle in particular a rail vehicle, the energy dissipation device (1) having a damping unit (10) having a regeneratively implemented damping element (11) for damping traction and impact forces occurring in normal travel operation and an energy dissipation unit (20) having a destructively implemented energy dissipation element (21), and the energy dissipation element (21) being designed to respond after a previously determinable critical impact force is exceeded and to transmit at least a part of the impact forces transmitted via the energy dissipation device (1) into heat and deformation work by plastic deformation and thus dissipate them. In order that the energy dissipation device (1) only requires a small installation space, the damping unit (10) is integrated in the energy dissipation unit (20) in such a way that during a transmission of impact forces, the force flux runs through both the damping unit (10) and also the energy dissipation element (20).

    • The present invention relates to an automatic central buffer coupling, especially of the “Tlghtlock/AAR” type of construction. The coupling includes a coupling head, with a supporting unit underneath; a hydraulic and/or compressed air terminal for a hydraulic or compressed air line; and an electrical contact carrier arranged underneath the supporting unit and having electrical contact terminals; and an actuating device to longitudinally displace the electrical contact carrier via the air line. The electrical contact carrier is in an uncoupled position rearward of the coupling plane of the central buffer coupling, and is displaceable into a coupling-ready forward position in the coupling plane via the actuating device. In order to ensure that the electrical contact carrier is automatically co-coupled after the mechanical coupling operation, a release mechanism is configured to ensure a coupling mechanism is triggered to co-couple the at least one hydraulic and/or compressed air terminal.

    • A protective plate assembly comprises a plurality of overlapping rigid plates (1, 2, 3) for covering a wearer's chest and abdomen, the plates being attached together such that the amount of overlap between successive plates is variable. Elements (13, 16) of compressible material are provided, distributed on an inner side of the assembly, such that when the amount of overlap between the plates (1, 2, 3) increases, the elements move closer together in the direction in which said overlap increases, and vice versa. Two adjacent plates of the assembly are attached to each other by means of a peg (12) extending from one of said plates, which peg is captive within a slot (9) on the other of said plates, the slot running substantially perpendicular to the overlapping edges of the plates.

    • A device (1) is provided for horizontal resetting to center for a central buffer coupling arranged pivotably by a coupling shaft (2) on a rail-borne vehicle. The device has a guide (3) following the pivoting movement of the coupling shaft (2) around its vertical pivot axis. The device has pressing surfaces (4) provided symmetrically to the longitudinal axis of the coupling shaft (2), and has a pressing device (7), with parts supported against an articulated housing (5) for the coupling shaft and bringing about the horizontal resetting to center. The pressing device acts permanently or switches off or can be switched off depending on the pivot angle or can be actuated by a pneumatically, hydraulically or electrically operated actuating device. To facilitate especially the coupling in tight curves or to make it possible in the first place, the actuating device is designed as a remote-controllable adjusting drive (11). The adjusting drive acts on the guide (3) and consequently the coupling shaft (2) that is functionally connected thereto to position the same into any position of the intended horizontal range of pivoting of the coupling shaft (2) in the flow of forces via the device (1) for resetting to center.
