摘要： Among other things, there is disclosed embodiments of biopsy needles having improved radiological visualization properties. Exemplary needles include an outer cannula and a stylet slidable within the cannula. At least a portion of the stylet is radiologically contrasting to at least a part of the cannula. When the stylet is extended from the cannula within the patient, the clinician can observe radiologically where the extended portion of the stylet is, because of the radiological contrast between the stylet and cannula. The clinician can compare that contrasting area to the tissue of interest, to assure that the needle is properly placed.

In particular embodiments, a user selects one of a plurality of sample-size settings, which sets the needle to a particular cannula throw-length by moving an internal wall against which a spring engages. For a shorter throw, the wall is in a forward position and the cannula is retracted the smaller amount to compress the spring. For a longer throw, the wall is in a rearward position and the cannula is retracted a larger amount to compress the spring.

摘要： A device for lifting one or more flexible, flat parts such as stacked pap pasteboard, cardboard, plastic is disclosed. The device relies on the propensity of a bundle of such parts to flex up around its edge when compressed at a point away from that edge. In one embodiment, a compression device presses down on one bundle in a stack of several bundles of parts to be lifted and a second compression device presses down the underlying stack, thus opening up a gap between the upper bundle and lower stack. A lifting arm is driven into this gap, and a clamp presses down on the bundle above the lifting arm, grasping the bundle. Two retainers are extended down onto the lower stack to prevent the stack from moving as the bundle is lifted. Once contact between the lifted bundle and the remaining stack is broken, the retainers are withdrawn and the lifting device is maneuvered to a delivery position.
