    • Multiple communication types are integrated into a call center. The communication types can be chat, email, Internet Protocol (IP) voice, traditional telephone, web page, digital image, digital video and other types. Features of the invention include allowing a single agent to handle multiple customers on multiple channels, or “endpoints.” Prioritizing and assigning calls to agents based on a specific criteria such as the number of endpoints assigned to an agent, the agents availability, the priority of a customer call, the efficiency of a given agent and the agent's efficiency at handling a particular communication type call. An agent user interface is described that allows the agent to have control over accepting multiple calls. The agent can drag and drop canned responses, images, URLs, or other information into a window for immediate display on a customer's computer. The system provides for detailed agent performance tracking. The system provides failure recovery by using a backup system. If the network server fails, then the customer is connected directly to an agent. When a failed computer comes back on line, the statistics gathered are then used to synchronize the returned computer. The system provides extensive call recording or “data wake” information gathering. The system provides flexibility in transferring large amounts of historic and current data from one agent to another, and from storage to an active agent. The system integrates human agents' knowledge with an automated knowledge base. The system provides for an agent updating, or adding, to the knowledge base in real time. The system also provides for “blending” of different communication types.

    • An electrical connection device (10) for connecting a multi-core machine cable to another electrical device comprises a body (12) having an end-face with apertures and a plurality of insulating sleeves (22) extending about the apertures and a plurality of core coupling means (26, 28) each being at least in part positioned in a respective sleeve.     • The invention provides a method and apparatus for selecting desired attributes for system configuration. The invention uses one or more rule sets to define rules that are met when a configuration is valid. A rule set may specify the interrelation of attribute values within a product or between two or more products. If the combination of attribute values that specify a product conform to at least one rule in each of the rule sets that apply to that product, that combination of attribute values is considered to specify a valid product. If the combination of attribute values that specify all of the products of an assembly conform to at least one rule in each of the rule sets that apply to that assembly, that combination of attribute values is considered to specify a valid assembly.

    • The present invention provides an electrical connection device.     • An electrical connection device is arranged for connection to a machine cable and includes a pin and a socket. The pin and the socket have engagement surfaces with the pin or socket having another surface that forms a wedging surface for the device. The pin and the socket are moveable relative to each other from a released position to an engaging position in which the engaging surfaces form an electrical contact. The device also includes a wedge portion arranged to impart a force on the wedging surface by contacting the wedging surface on movement to the engaging position. The pin and the socket are arranged so that the engagement surfaces move into opposing relationship on movement to the engaging position and the force imparted on the wedging surface biases one engagement surface against an opposing engagement surface.

    • A method is disclosed for operating a wireless mobile station of a type that is capable of bidirectional communication with a BMI having a SMS center. The method includes the steps of: (a) receiving a SMS message from the BMI; (b) determining if the SMS message has a first transfer format or a second transfer format; (c) if the SMS message is determined to have the first transfer format, processing the SMS message in a conventional manner; (d) if the SMS message is determined to have the second transfer format, parsing the SMS message to locate an Application Identifier entry; (e) determining from the Application Identifier entry if the mobile station supports the identified application; (f) if not, displaying a data entry of the SMS message with a first display format; else, (g) if the mobile station does support the identified application, starting the application and displaying the data entry with a second display format specified by the application. In a presently preferred embodiment of this invention the second format is a Data Exchange, Storage, and Command (DESC) format, and an application specified by the DESC formatted SMS message can be a Personal Messaging Calendar (PMC) application. Access to the PMC application can be via SMS messages from the mobile station, or through a network-connected data processor, such as a PC connected to the internet.
