    • An electrical switch which can be used in particular in power tools, such as drilling machines, angle grinders or the like, is disclosed. The switch has an actuator, at least one fixed contact, and at least one switching contact. The switching contact is arranged on a slide which is moveable between two positions by means of the actuator. The switching contact is at a distance from the fixed contact in the one position and bears against the fixed contact in the other position. An elastic device interacts with the slide, so that the slide can be changed over between the two positions with a type of snap movement. The elastic device may be a first spring, arranged on the slide, like a pressure-point spring. The first spring, during movement of the slide, interacts with a switching-point link, fixed relative to the slide, for generating a pressure point in such a way that a spring force is effective against the direction of movement of the slide up to the changeover point, which is reached when the pressure point has been overcome.

    • An apparatus for adjusting carbon brushes of a reversible electric motor includes: a swivelable support; a fixed position contact plate disposed adjacent the support; a plurality of fixed contacts received in the contact plate and adapted to be electrically connected to field windings of the electric motor; and a plurality of brush holders arranged on the support for holding the carbon brushes, each of the brush holders having a facing surface which faces the contact plate. Each of the brush holders further includes a projecting portion projecting approximately perpendicularly from the facing surface in the axial direction into a region of the fixed contacts, projecting portions of the brush holders thereby forming switching contacts for making direct contact with the fixed contacts such that the fixed contacts are adapted to be in alternate contact with the carbon brushes for reversing a direction of rotation of the electric motor when the support is swiveled. Each of the fixed contacts has a contact surface extending approximately parallel to a corresponding switching contact in the axial direction, the contact surface further having elasticity the radial direction such that the corresponding switching contact is directly urged against the contact surface in the radial direction for establishing direct electrical contact between the fixed contacts and the brush holders.

    • An electrical switch comprises, in addition to its switching mechanism or mechanisms, a potentiometer including a potentiometer plate and a slider which is advantageously moved/simultaneously with the actuation of the switching mechanisms. To this end, the potentiometer plate is inserted into slot-shaped seats of the terminal elements, which are prevented from being unduly enlarged by suitable means. The firm hold is in addition ensured by corresponding grooves provided in the housing, and preferably and in addition, by studs which are provided on the housing cover and which, while securing the cover to the housing, are ultrasonically plasticized, in order to produce exactly fitting holding elements.
