摘要： In a liquid crystal display apparatus, in order to reduce the size and weight, an integrated circuit for driving a liquid crystal is mounted on the glass substrate including the liquid crystal panel either directly or by way of a tape carrier. That is, two glass substrates of liquid crystal panel are mutually overlapped with an offset, and a liquid crystal material is injected into the overlapping regions of the two glass substrates, and liquid crystal display is effected in this region. Further, in the non-overlapping region of the two glass substrates, the integrated circuit is connected either directly or by way of a tape carrier. On the glass substrates, electrodes for varying the optical characteristics of the liquid crystals are provided, and the integrated circuit drives the liquid crystal by controlling the voltage applied to the electrodes. Further transparent insulation films are formed usually formed on the electrodes. The transparent insulation films are also formed in the non-overlapping region of the glass substrates. Since the transparent insulation films are finely patterned by photolithography, they may be selectively formed on the portions where defective insulation is likely to occur between the wiring conductors following the integrated circuit from the electrodes, or between the integrated circuit and the peripheral portion of the connecting part.

摘要： A display board has wirings on a surface thereof for transmitting a signal received from outside at a peripheral portion of the display board to a display area of the display board. Each wiring has a first conductive film formed of a first material and disposed on the surface of the display board, a second conductive film which is formed of a second material satisfying a condition that a surface of the second conductive film is less prone to oxidation than a surface of the first conductive film and which is disposed on a part of the first conductive film, and a transparent conductive film which is an oxide film and which is disposed on at least the second conductive film. Those first conductive film, second conductive film and transparent film constitute a three-layered structure portion of the wiring.

摘要： A display device includes unit cells, each including a thin film transistor and a pixel, arrayed in a matrix form on a display board. First switching elements are provided at intersections between signal conductor lines and scanning conductor lines, scanning conductor line drive elements driving the scanning conductor lines. Finally, second switching elements are included, one provided between each scanning conductor line and scanning conductor line drive element. Each second switching element is put into an open state in synchronization with a fall in level of an input video signal provided to a signal conductor line to electrically disconnect the corresponding scanning conductor line from the scanning conductor line drive element. Thus, the scanning conductor line drive element is not affected by instantaneous voltage drop on the corresponding scanning conductor line.

An interlayer insulating film is provided on the switching element. A pixel electrode connected with the switching element is provided on the interlayer insulating film. Moreover, a spacer for keeping a thickness of a liquid crystal layer constant is disposed in the liquid crystal layer and in a sealing member for sealing the liquid crystal layer. Materials of the interlayer insulating film and spacers are optimized. This configuration prevents degradation of a defective ratio and reliability due to the spacer disposed in the liquid crystal layer sinking into the interlayer insulating film.

One of the substrates includes: scanning lines and signal lines crossing each other; switching elements formed at crossings of the scanning lines and the signal lines; an insulating film of a light-transmitting organic material which cover the scanning lines and the signal lines and the switching elements; and pixel electrodes formed on the insulating film. The insulating layer has at least a polarizing property. The other substrate also includes a layer having at least the polarizing property. At least one of the layers having the polarizing property formed on the substrates is arranged inside of the liquid crystal display device.

摘要： A panel having a plurality of electrode terminals disposed along a peripheral portion of one surface thereof is assembled at small size, less weight, and low cost. Flexible wiring boards on which a drive IC is mounted are connected to the electrode terminals, and circuit wiring is connected to the flexible wiring boards. On both sides of the peripheral portion of the panel, a first junction terminal and a second junction terminal are provided. By a first circuit wiring, the second junction terminal corresponding to one flexible wiring board is connected to the first junction terminal corresponding to another flexible wiring board adjacent to the flexible wiring board. An input terminal, output terminals, and a third junction terminal that lead to the drive IC are provided at places corresponding to the various terminals on one surface of the flexible wiring boards. By the second circuit wiring, the input terminal is connected to the third junction terminal. The corresponding terminals are connected to each other by overlapping the flexible wiring boards on the peripheral portion of the panel.

摘要： An electronic measuring apparatus is placed on a drawing or other material on which a measuring object is drawn. The apparatus has a main display of a dot matrix liquid crystal display having a touch sensor. A plurality of points corresponding to the measuring object such as a graphic are entered as specific points. A calculating section calculates lengths of a straight line and a curve, an angle between two straight lines, or regional area of a region based on coordinate data of the respective specified points. The calculated results are shown on the main display. With the arrangement, the respective measurings of the length, angle, regional area, and other measuring object are carried out with ease and high accuracy. Moreover, a variety of processings such as unit conversion and scale factor conversion can be carried out only by entering respective specific data.
