    • A packaging apparatus includes a collection unit and a conveyance unit. The collection unit is configured and arranged to overlay a plurality of packaged objects on adjacent packaged objects. The conveyance unit is configured and arranged to convey, as a group of packaged objects, the packaged objects which are overlaid on the adjacent packaged objects at the collection unit. The conveyance unit includes a position control component. At least one portion of the position control component is positioned below a conveyance plane of the conveyance unit and the other portion of the position control component is positioned above the conveyance plane of the conveyance unit before positions of the packaged objects are adjusted, the one portion and the other portion of the position control component is provided sequentially.

    • A conveying device is adapted to receive a plurality of articles, to accumulate the articles so as to form a batch of the articles, and to convey the batch of the articles. The conveying device includes a delivery unit, a placing unit and a control unit. The delivery unit is configured and arranged to turn the articles to orient the articles in a standing position after receiving the articles while delivering the articles to a downstream side at a delivery position. The placing unit is configured and arranged to accumulate the articles sequentially delivered from the delivery unit to form the batch of the articles in a prescribed accumulation form. The control unit is configured to change a delivery interval in which each of the articles is sequentially delivered to the placing unit according to the prescribed accumulation form.

    • A seal checker capable of reliably detecting a faulty seal at a vertical seal portion of a packaging bag or a portion thereof covered by the vertical seal portion is provided. A lower transfer conveyor conveys a packaging bag such that a vertical seal portion thereof moves along the conveyance direction. The upper and lower transfer conveyors sandwich and press the packaging bag therebetween. A servo motor detects the distance between the transfer conveyors when the packaging bag is pressed thereby. A control unit determines the seal properties of the packaging bag based on the distance detected by the servo motor. A gap is provided on a conveyance surface of one of the transfer conveyors to which the vertical seal portion faces, which extends in the conveyance direction and prevents the vertical seal portion from being pressed.
