摘要： A child swing chair provides a seat and a rigid harness operably connected thereto which can move from a loaded to an unloaded configuration for ingress and egress from the seat by a user. When the harness is secured relative to the seat, the swing chair preferably passes a rigid bounded opening test as defined by Standard F1487, Paragraph 6.1.1 and the a partially bounded opening test as defined by Paragraphs 6.1.4 of the ASTM Standard in at least some embodiments. In some embodiments, the rigid harness can be supported in an unloaded configuration whereby the harness is in a position allowing for ingress and egress until a predetermined force is overcome to move the harness towards the loaded configuration.

摘要： A needle design and retention system in which the sewing needle is formed with a locator portion at the end of the shank that is substantially normal thereto. The locator portion may be parallel to the axis of the thread carrying eyelet and the sewing needle or may form a known angle with the plane including the needle axis and the axis of the thread carrying eyelet. The locator portion of the sewing needle extends through a transverse aperture in an enlarged end in a slabbed rod affixed to the sewing machine needle bar. The enlarged end is also grooved to accommodate a portion of the shank. A clamping sleeve is provided having an axially aligned aperture which surrounds the enlarged end of the slabbed rod and the sewing needle shank to retain the sewing needle affixed thereto. The clamping sleeve is provided with a counterbore which receives a coil spring which encircles the rod and is captured between the bottom of the needle bar and the ends of the counterbore. The clamping sleeve may be elevated against the pressure of the coil spring to enable insertion or removal of the sewing needle with the locator portion in the transverse aperture in the end of the rod and the shank in the groove therein. The clamping sleeve is automatically returned to a retaining position by the coil spring.

摘要： This disclosure relates to needle guards for rotary loop takers in sewing machines and has for its purpose prevention of interference between the needle and the loop seizing beak of the rotary loop taker during the sewing operation. A needle guard is provided which is substantially annular and open ended and is resiliently supported within the body of the loop taker. One leg of the needle guard is disposed in the region of the loop seizing beak of the loop taker and in the region of the needle path so that the needle if proceeding toward the loop seizing beak upon penetration of the fabric, will be deflected away from the loop seizing beak and toward the center of the loop taker body. An adjustable anchoring means is provided for the one leg of the needle guard for adjusting the relative position of said one leg relative to the loop seizing beak. The needle guard itself is formed from a resilient wire such that it may be readily snapped in and out of the loop taker body for easy replacement if warranted by unusual wear conditions.

摘要： A tension spring concentric with the presser bar pulls the presser foot down against the work. The spring is threaded onto two holders, each of which fits around the presser bar. The first holder is attached to the presser bar near its upper end but the second allows the presser bar to slide within it. The second holder is slidably attached to a bracket and controlled by a presser bar pressure regulating cam to slide up and down in the bracket and thereby change the tension in the spring to exert a controlled force on the presser foot. The first holder is also slidably mounted in the bracket, and is controlled by a lever that has a lifting cam linked to the first holder. When the lever is lifted, the first holder is lifted to raise the presser bar and presser foot away from the work. This extends the spring, which urges the presser foot back down against the work as soon as the lever is lowered.
