摘要： A finger mounted acoustic sensor. Various embodiments of the finger mounted acoustic sensors include sensors mounted within a casing designed to fit between fingers. The sensor may be rotated with respect to the casing. Other embodiments include mounting tubes for wearing on a finger. Sensors are embedded in the tube and on the rings such that they are easily positioned using technician's fingers. Other embodiments include rings for mounting sensors on and for steadying the sensors. The hand and finger mounted sensors may be used to provide necessary pressure to the sensor and yet provide a sensor that may be manipulated using hand and finger motion. In other embodiments sensors having a local disconnect are disclosed. Such disconnects may be attached to the clothing of a medical professional, attached via a wrist or armband or the like. Various sensor packages may be accompanied by the use of a flat or flex cable to minimize the torque necessary to manipulate the sensor. Such sensors can be used with a ultrasound platform for generating, processing and displaying ultrasound images.

摘要： A process for forming a delineated vapor deposition film of a deposition material on a substrate. The delineation is accomplished by exposing selected areas of the substrate to an electron beam before depositing the deposition material whereby the sticking coefficients of the selected areas are sufficiently reduced so as to prevent any significant deposition in those areas. Furthermore, irradiated areas of the substrate can be restored to their original surface characteristics by exposure to a second electron beam while the substrate is at an elevated temperature. Thus, areas of the substrate can be negatively delineated to prevent deposition, and such negatively delineated surfaces can then be positively delineated to permit deposition.

摘要： A laryngeal mask airway (LMA) is provided which can be easily and effectively used to intubate a patient with an endotracheal tube (ETT). The LMA of the invention is of the type having an inflatable mask and an airway tube connected to the mask. The airway tube comprises a first tube section having a distal end connected to the mask, and a second tube section having a distal end removably connected to the proximal end of the first tube section. The second tube section has longitudinally extending separation lines which allow it to be split apart. This feature enables complete removal of the LMA and successful incubation with the cuff of the ETT below the vocal cords of the patient.
