    • A cubical computer housing assembly comprises first and second ends and four sides, which define an interior compartment for housing the various computer components. The first and second ends are rigidly connected to one another and are slidingly detachable from four sides of the assembly. The interior compartment comprises three parallelepiped portions, one for accommodating a plurality of circuit boards, one for accommodating a heat sink and hard disk drive, and one for accommodating other memory device such as a CD ROM or DVD player. A hard disk drive is slidingly mounted in a frame which is rigidly mounted relative to the first and second ends. A hinged door on which is mounted a printed circuit board can be moved to an open position to provide access to the disk drive for removal and replacement of same.

    • A product change tool for selectively engaging a product change element with an IC tester interface and disengaging the product change element from the tester interface includes a mobile frame mounted to a base frame and constrained to move relative to the base frame along an axis of linear movement, and a force mechanism for urging the mobile frame to move along the axis of linear movement relative to the base frame. The force mechanism includes first and second links pivotally connected together at their proximal ends and secured at their distal ends to the mobile frame and the base frame respectively. The distal ends of the links are spaced apart along the axis of linear movement and the proximal ends of the links are between the distal ends relative to that axis. An actuator is coupled to the proximal ends of the links for urging the proximal ends of the links in directions transverse to the axis of linear movement, whereby the spacing of the distal ends of the links along the axis changes and the mobile frame moves relative to the base frame along the axis.

    • A test head for a semiconductor integrated circuit tester, the test head includes a housing, a backplane structure attached to the housing in a manner permitting pivotal movement of the backplane structure relative to the housing, and a latch mechanism for forcing the backplane structure towards its closed position. The latch mechanism includes a cam follower that projects from the backplane structure in a direction perpendicular to the axis of pivotal movement of the backplane structure, a cam plate that is attached to the housing and is moveable relative to the housing and is formed with a cam slot for receiving the cam follower, and a drive mechanism effective to drive the cam plate to move relative to the housing. In the event that the cam follower is located in the working region of the cam slot, movement of the cam member in one direction urges the backplane structure towards the closed position and movement in the opposite direction urges the backplane structure away from the closed position.

    • A semiconductor integrated circuit tester includes a housing having a tester interface area, a guide structure in the housing and defining an engagement axis that intersects the tester interface area, and a circuit board structure fitted in the guide structure in a manner allowing movement of the circuit board structure relative to the housing along the engagement axis. The circuit board structure has a tester interface that is exposed exteriorly of the housing at the tester interface area. An attachment mechanism releasably engages a test board having a test board interface and secures the test board against movement along the engagement axis in a direction away from the tester interface area. When the test board is secured to the housing by the attachment mechanism and the tester interface is not engaged with the test board interface, the circuit board structure may be urged to move along the engagement axis to force the tester interface into engagement with the test board interface.
