    • A portable in situ psychrometric test apparatus and method for determining, without the use of standard environmental test rooms, the capacity that an air conditioner would exhibit when operated under predetermined standard environmental test conditions. Mutually isolated air flow chambers are detachably mounted to the air intake and air discharge openings of the conditioner. Samples of air flowing through the chambers under normal operation of the conditioner are withdrawn and wet bulb/dry bulb measurements taken at the end of a predetermined operating period. Air velocity through the chambers and condenser environmental air dry bulb temperature are also measured. These measurements give in situ operating capacity which is then converted, using predetermined empirically derived correction factors, to operating capacity under standard environmental conditions.

    • The fuel tank assembly for an automobile comprises a substantially box-shaped bottom portion having a top peripheral flange; several highly porous filler packets or blocks made from metal foil mesh material received in the tank, each packet being formed from two to ten layers of metal foil mesh material, and some of said packets being folded over, thereby to substantially fill the tank with the highly porous packets or blocks, and a top tank cover plate sealed to the top peripheral flange. The method for constructing an anti-fuel-splashing and anti-rupturing automobile fuel tank comprises the steps of: providing a generally box-shaped fuel tank bottom portion having a top peripheral flange; providing in the tank a generally trough or cage shaped enclosure surrounding an inlet to the fuel tank; providing a plurality of packets or blocks, some of which are foldable, and which are made of two to ten layers of a metal foil mesh material; and, inserting the packets or blocks into the fuel tank to substantially fill said fuel tank with said packets or blocks made of layers of metal foil mesh material and sealing a cover plate to the top peripheral flange to complete construction of the fuel tank.

    • A thermoelectric generator module which is formed with a hot side heat exchanger having extruded fins on one surface and in contact with a series of individual thermoelectric semiconductor modules on the opposite side of the exchanger. A cold side heat exchanger attached to the opposite side of the semiconductor modules from the hot side heat exchanger, producing a thermal gradient across the semiconductor modules. The semiconductor modules are placed in an arranged pattern so that a maximum of heat flow through the modules is produced. Each semiconductor module is connected electrically to each other so that their output may be combined to produce a large quantity of electric power. A series of generator modules may be interconnected in a series or parallel combination to form a thermoelectric generator of varying power output.
