摘要： An apparatus comprises a physiologic sensing circuit and a control circuit. The physiologic sensing circuit is configured to sense an electrical respiration signal representative of respiration of a subject. The control circuit includes a respiration monitor circuit and a therapy circuit. The respiration monitor circuit is configured to extract a respiration parameter from the respiration signal and detect that a value of the respiration parameter is outside of a target value range for the respiration parameter. The therapy circuit is configured to deliver neural stimulation to the carotid sinus of the subject to stimulate respiration and to adjust respiration to maintain the value of the respiration parameter within the target value range.

摘要： Physiologic data is collected for a heart failure patient during hospitalization and after discharge of the heart failure patient from a hospital, and analyzed for a change in the collected physiologic data. Deterioration of the patient's heart failure status is detected based at least in part on detecting an acute deleterious change in the collected physiologic data indicative of an abnormality in one or more physiologic parameters represented by the physiologic data. A readmission alert is generated in response to the acute deleterious change in the collected physiologic data. The readmission alert indicates that further deterioration in the patient's heart failure status may require readmission of the patient to the hospital.

摘要： Systems and methods provide for assessing the heart failure status of a patient and, more particularly, to generating a trend parameter based on a distribution of the patient's respiration rate. Systems and methods provide for detecting, using an implantable device or a patient-external device, patient respiration and computing a respiration rate based on the detected patient respiration. A distribution of the respiration rate is calculated, and a trend parameter based on the respiration rate distribution is generated. The trend parameter is indicative of a patient's heart failure status. An output signal indicative of the patient's heart failure status may be generated based on the trend parameter.

The patient monitor can monitor using a first monitoring mode. A patient communication device can be configured to present, to the patient, an option to perform an exercise regimen, and to receive a response indicating whether the patient will perform the exercise regimen. A configuration module coupled to the patient communication device can be configured to activate a second monitoring mode when the response indicates that the patient will perform the exercise regimen. When the exercise regimen is complete, the first monitoring mode can be re-established. When the response indicates that the patient will not perform the exercise regimen, the response can be recorded as a negative response, and the option to perform the exercise regimen can be presented again.

摘要： A system comprises a risk analysis module and a worsening heart failure (WHF) detection module. The risk analysis module measures at least one first physiological parameter of a subject using a physiological sensor of an ambulatory medical device, and determines a heart failure (HF) risk score for the subject according to the at least one measured first physiological parameter. The HF risk score indicates susceptibility of the subject to experiencing a HF event. The WHF detection module measures at least one second physiological parameter of the subject using the same or different physiological sensor, and generates an indication of prediction that the subject will experience a WHF event when the at least one second physiological parameter satisfies a WHF detection algorithm. The risk analysis module adjusts generation of the indication by the WHF detection algorithm according to the determined HF risk score.
