摘要： A centrifugal method, and corresponding system, for processing blood to collect platelet rich plasma. A separation chamber is filled with blood from a fill syringe by rotating the separation chamber at a fill rotation rate and pumping the blood from the fill syringe. A soft spin is used to initially separate red blood cells from platelets by spinning the separation chamber at a soft spin rate. A percentage of the blood is drawn from the separation chamber back into the fill syringe to remove separated red blood cells. A second portion of the separated blood is drawn from the separation chamber until a red blood cell/platelet interface is detected. A hard spin is performed by spinning the separation chamber at a higher rate and connecting tubing is cleared of red blood cells by drawing a predetermined clearing volume. The platelet rich plasma is then collected in the collection syringe.

摘要： A bag assembly for the separation of a composite liquid into at least two components, comprises a set of bags and a bag-assembling device for assembling the set of bags. The set of bags comprises a separation bag connected by a product tube to at least one product bag. The bag-assembling device comprises a support member; a mounting means, connected to the support member, for removably mounting the bag-assembling device in a rotor of a centrifuge having a central cavity for containing the product bag; and a first securing means connected to the support member for releasably securing the product bag to the support member. The mounting means and the first securing means are so arranged that the product bag occupies a determined position in the central cavity of a rotor when the bag-assembling device in mounted therein.

摘要： The delivery system of the present invention is comprised of at least two chambers which store, individually, an activated blood component and an inactivated blood component. The first chamber comprises an activating agent and a filter which may be one in the same thus allowing the formed clot to be triturated thereby isolating the thrombin from the clot. The second chamber stores the inactivated blood component that when mixed with thrombin will produce a gel. The first or second chamber may further contain agents which are desired to be delivered to a specific site. The unique design of the delivery system allows for ease in operation of combining two agents at a specific time and place.
