摘要： A reproduction machine incorporating self test routines to test the machine operating logic, particularly at start up, to insure the integrity and operability of the component parts of the operating logic. The tests include routines for initially checking the machine master control module logic and memory. A display panel on the master control module visually identifies any fault in the event the communication link to the machine main display has failed. Once the operability of the master control module is established, self tests of the various machine remote control modules are carried out followed by a test of the communication channel between all modules. Any fault found is visually identified to facilitate repair and servicing.

摘要： A linear chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) system includes a belt pad, a slurry bar having a plurality of nozzles, and a heating module for heating slurry. The heating module has a plurality of heating elements, each of which is coupled in flow communication with one of the plurality of nozzles of the slurry bar. The system also may include a control system for controlling the heating elements of the heating module and first and second temperature sensors coupled to the control system. The first temperature sensors measure the temperature of slurry heated by each of the heating elements, and the second temperature sensors measure the temperature of the surface of the belt pad. A method for dispensing slurry in a linear CMP system, and methods for controlling the temperature of the surface of the belt pad and the temperature of slurry in a linear CMP system also are described.

In one embodiment, a sealing member is disposed within a space between a container body flange and a corresponding portion of the sidewall of the container body, is disposed between a space between an endpiece flange and a corresponding portion of an endpiece wall, and is further disposed between the endpiece flange and container body flange. As such, the sealing member has a generally S-shaped configuration in cross-section. At least one and preferably two scores are incorporated on the sealing member to facilitate at least a partial removal of the endpiece from the container body so as to be able to access the contents of the container. In another embodiment, a sealing member is removed from between the endpiece and container body, and at least one mechanical purchase exists between the endpiece and container body to provide a "reclosability" feature.

摘要： The present invention relates to improvements in the strength of ends used on metal beverage containers.Such ends generally comprise a central panel portion of a substantially planer character, a surrounding U-shaped sidewall having inner and outer legs, a curved intermediate portion integrally joining the inner leg to the U-shaped sidewall, and a peripheral curl extending from the outer leg for double seaming the end onto a can body.In accordance with the present invention, the intermediate portion and adjacent central panel portion are firmly supported by a die while a clamping force is placed on an annular band of the upper surface of the end at the intermediate portion. The clamping force is increased until metal flows inwardly and outwardly from the contact point resulting in a free compression doming of the center panel and an outward deflection of the inner leg. An end of increased buckle resistance is thereby produced which end is approximately within standard dimensions such that customers can use the end on existing seaming equipment without alteration. An optional feature is provided to minimize the compression doming by clamping a peripheral band of the end with a hold-down pad while the metal flowing is accomplished. This reduces the dome depth and results in a strengthened end having a dome depth very close to standard specifications.

The circumferential variegations are cold-worked or coined into the center-panel ring and/or into portions of the closure that are adjacent to the center-panel ring. The circumferential variegations include coined surfaces with variegated lengths, variegated coin angles, variegated coin residuals, variegated spaces between coined surfaces, or variegated widths of the center panel. The circumferential variegations achieve non-axisymmetric doming of the metal closure and increase the buckling pressure of the closure by obviating excess metal in the center panel that typically results from scorning the center panel for the easy open end.
