    • An image forming apparatus according to the present invention includes: a paper feed part; a conveying path conveying paper from the paper feed part; a transfer part transferring an image onto the paper; a registration roller timely delivering the paper to the transfer part; a paper detector detecting paper arrival at the registration roller; an image forming part starting image formation; an image processing part transmitting to the image forming part image data used for the image formation; and a control part, based on output of the paper detector, in a case where the paper detector has not detected the paper arrival at a check time point provided before a tip of the image arrives at the transfer part after the start of the image formation, delaying an image formation speed at the image forming part and an image data transmission speed of the image processing part.

    • The printing apparatus of the present invention comprises a scanner unit for reading an image in an original; an instruction unit for receiving an instruction from a user and instructing operation of reading the image with the scanner unit; and a printer unit for printing the image that has been read on a medium. In the printing apparatus of the present invention, each reading operations with the scanner unit is started by receiving an instruction from the user with the instruction unit when the reading operation is to be performed with the scanner unit for a plurality of number of times and a plurality of the images that have been read are to be printed in their respective predetermined positions on the medium. The printing apparatus makes it possible to perform N-up printing of a new procedure that is different from conventional N-up printing.

    • An ECU (60) for an engine (10, 70) monitors a change of an actual fuel pressure (NPC), when a target fuel pressure (PFIN) is changed stepwise. In one abnormality, the time required for the actual fuel pressure to reach the target fuel pressure is equal to that when an actuator (34) operates normally. However, the maximum value of a differential value (dNPC/dt) with respect to time of the actual fuel pressure is different from that when the actuator operates normally. For this reason, a normal range is set in advance for the maximum value of the differential value with respect to time of the actual fuel pressure and when the maximum value of the differential value with respect to time of the actual fuel pressure is out of the normal range, it is determined that the actuator operates abnormally.
