    • To increase a torque transmission efficiency without involving significant modification of a structure of a joint. A fixed type constant velocity universal joint includes: an outer joint member (12) having an inner spherical surface (10) in which a plurality of track grooves (11) extending in an axial direction are formed; an inner joint member (15) having an outer spherical surface (13) in which a plurality of track grooves (14) extending in the axial direction while paired with the track grooves (11) of the outer joint member (12) are formed; a plurality of balls (16) interposed between the track grooves (11, 14) of each of the outer joint member (12) and the inner joint member (15), for transmitting a torque; and a cage (17) interposed between the inner spherical surface (10) of the outer joint member (12) and the outer spherical surface (13) of the inner joint member (15), for holding the balls (16), the outer joint member (12) and the inner joint member (15) each having a center curvature of the track grooves (11, 14) being offset from each other in a direction opposite to the axial direction by an equal distance with respect to a joint center, in which: a PCD gap (2×m) in a ball track formed between the track grooves (11, 14) of each of the outer joint member (12) and the inner joint member (15) is set to equal to or larger than 25 μm; a spherical surface gap (2×n1) formed between the outer spherical surface (13) of the inner joint member (15) and an inner spherical surface (19) of the cage (17) is set to equal to or larger than 40 μm; and a spherical surface gap (2×n2) formed between an outer spherical surface (18) of the cage (17) and the inner spherical surface (10) of the outer joint member (12) is set to equal to or larger than 40 μm.

    • The outer diameter of a joint outer ring is reduced using simple means, so that a constant velocity universal joint that can easily be reduced in weight and size is provided. It is an object to improve the unnerving vibrations, muffled noises, and the like.The constant velocity universal joint includes a joint outer ring having a plurality of track grooves formed in the inner circumference, a joint inner ring provided with track grooves corresponding to the track grooves of the joint outer ring, a plurality of balls provided in the ball tracks interposed between the joint outer ring and the joint inner ring and formed by cooperation of the track grooves to transmit torque, and a cage having pockets for retaining the balls. In the constant velocity universal joint having a plurality of vehicle body attachment flanges provided apart from each other in the outer circumferential direction of the joint outer ring and partly protruding in the radial direction. The joint outer ring has a flower outer circumferential shape corresponding to the inner circumferential shape, and the vehicle body attachment flanges are provided at outer recesses positioned between the track grooves of the joint outer ring. In this joint, the number of the balls is six, and the pitches of the ball tracks are random, unequal and not less than 55°.

    • A capping apparatus includes a capping head 3 which is provided with a rotatable spindle. A plurality of permanent magnets 51 are embedded around the entire outer periphery at the upper end of the spindle, with adjacent permanent magnets 51 presenting magnetic poles of different polarities. An arcuate rotation imparting member 53 is fixedly mounted and includes a plurality of permanent magnets 55 which are disposed along a locus of travel of the permanent magnets 51 on the capping head 3, with adjacent permanent magnets 55 presenting magnetic poles of different polarities. As the capping head 3 moves through a threadable engaging zone C in a direction indicated by an arrow, coaction between the permanent magnets 51 and 55 causes the capping head 3 to rotate clockwise, thereby causing a cap 12 to be threadably engaged with a container 4. The permanent magnets 51 and 55 form together a drive source which is free from a sliding movement, thus preventing a occurrence of abraded powder and avoiding a contamination of the environment of a working area.
