    • A monolithic high power radio frequency switch includes a substrate, and first and second gallium nitride high electron mobility transistors on the substrate. Each of the first and second gallium nitride high electron mobility transistors includes a respective source, drain and gate terminal. The source terminal of the first gallium nitride high electron mobility transistor is coupled to the drain terminal of the second gallium nitride high electron mobility transistor, and the source terminal of the second gallium nitride high electron mobility transistor is coupled to ground. An RF input pad is coupled to the drain terminal of the first second gallium nitride high electron mobility transistor, an RF output pad is coupled to the source terminal of the first gallium nitride high electron mobility transistor and the drain terminal of the second gallium nitride high electron mobility transistor, and a control pad is coupled to the gate of the first gallium nitride high electron mobility transistor.

    • A modular device for a telephone network interface apparatus having separate connection and plug-actuated testing compartments. The compartment for connection having at least one pair of contact wires for connection to a subscriber premises line and at least one pair of contact wires for connection to an incoming telephone company line, and an arm member mounted for insertion in the connecting compartment and into engagement with the subscriber and telephone company contact wires effecting the connection between the pair of subscriber contact wires and the pair of telephone company contact wires and for being withdrawn from the connecting compartment causing the subscriber contact wires to be disconnected from the telephone company contact wires to provide a point for demarcation therebetween. The subscriber contact wires and telephone company contact wires are preferably oriented in a manner to facilitate their physical connection through the contact engagement of a nonconducting arm member inserted within the connecting department. The compartment for testing having at least one pair of telephone company contact wires for engagement with the plug of an operating telephone inserted into the testing compartment to facilitate the determination of whether a fault exists on the subscriber premises line or the incoming telephone company line. The telephone company contact wires within the testing compartment are preferably spaced apart and/or separated by insulating material in a manner to improve their dielectric strength.

    • An apparatus is provided for measuring an output of a high-speed data transmission circuit. The apparatus includes a programmable reference voltage generator operable to generate a reference voltage that is variable between a plurality of levels. The apparatus also includes a quantizer to quantize an output of the high-speed data transmission circuit relative to the reference voltage level input thereto. Also included is a clock generator operable to generate a clock having a transitioning time (rise-time, fall-time or both) that is less than one quarter of a minimum switching period of the output of the circuit. Finally, the apparatus includes a sampler operable to sample the quantized output with the clock to produce a plurality of samples which measure the output of the circuit.

    • A method and apparatus for determining the fluorescence, luminescence, or absorption of a sample is provided. The sample may either be contained within a cuvette or within one or more sample wells within a multi-assay plate. A combination of a broadband source, monochromator, and a series of optical filters are used to tune the excitation wavelength to a predetermined value within a relatively wide wavelength band. A similar configuration is used to tune the detection wavelength. In one aspect, multiple optical filters are coupled to the excitation source subassembly, thus allowing the system to be quickly converted from one optical configuration to another. In another aspect, the excitation light and the detected sample emissions pass to and from an optical head assembly via a pair of optical fibers. In another aspect, an optical scanning head assembly is used that includes mirrored optics for coupling the excitation source to the sample and the emitted light to the detector. In another aspect, time tags are recorded for samples contained within a multi-assay plate to monitor compositional time dependent properties or to ensure the accurate comparison of individual samples.

    • The present invention combines the gasoline vapor recovery efficiency advantages of a Hirt “Partial Seal System”, as disclosed, for example, in U.S. Pat. No. 4,680,004 to Hirt, with the customer convenience advantages of gasoline vapor recovery systems employing “bootless” nozzles. The use of bootless nozzles in combination with strict environmental vapor emissions compliance is made possible because of specific system advantages, which include the use of a burner designed to operate at two different flow rates, a coaxial processor stack which permits second and third stage combustion of excess gasoline vapor generated by the system before it is released to atmosphere, and a remote sensor which continually monitors system vacuum pressure to ensure that a sufficient vacuum is maintained at all times. A major advantage of the present system is that the processor unit is adaptable for installation into existing gasoline vapor recovery systems and into other systems, including other manufacturer's systems.
