    • It is intended to provide a centrifugal blower capable of suppressing the generation of noise including periodic noise that is caused by interference between a tongue and an impeller. The centrifugal blower is provided with an impeller (2) provided with plural blades around a rotating shaft; a casing (3) which houses the impeller (2) and has a suction portion at one end in an axial line direction of the rotating shaft; a spiral flow passage (4) formed around the impeller (2) in the casing (3); and a tongue (6) for suppressing inflow of air from a winding end to a winding origin of the spiral flow passage (4). The centrifugal blower is characterized in that an extension (20) is provided at a tip of the tongue (6) in a reverse rotational direction that is reverse to a rotational direction of the impeller (2) in such a manner that it projects in the reverse rotational direction by a length that varies depending on the position in the axial line direction and that the gap between itself and the impeller (2) in the radial direction of the impeller (2) is kept approximately constant.

    • A vehicle air-conditioning system has an evaporator for receiving air discharged into a casing of the system and changing the air to a cold air flow that can flow rearward, and a heater for selectively receiving at least a portion of the cold air flow and heating such portion to a warm air flow. The system includes partition means for directing the warm air flow to permit mixing of the warm air flow and the remaining cold air flow that bypasses the heater. The partition means includes a top end portion and guide means for downwardly directing the cold, warm, or the mixed cold and warm air which has flowed beyond the top end portion for blowing-out such air out of the system. The top end portion defines a surface having a streamlined or curved configuration along which the cold, warm, or mixed cold and warm air can flow.

    • An air conditioning system for a vehicle is disclosed. The air conditioning system includes a casing, an evaporator, a heater core at a rear side of the evaporator, and a mixing area for mixing a first air bypassing the heater core with a second air flowing through the heater core. The system further includes a partition plate for guiding the second air to the mixing area after the second air flows through the heater core, a foot passage, a defrosting passage, a vent outlet, and a defrosting outlet. The system still further includes a temperature controlling damper for controlling rates of the first air and the second air after the first and second airs flows through the evaporator so as to attain a predetermined final temperature of the air which is discharged into a passenger compartment of the vehicle. The system further includes a vent damper, a foot damper and a defrosting damper.
