    • An electric leakage sensing apparatus includes a coupling capacitor having one end connected to a DC power supply, a pulse generator that supplies a pulse to the other end of the coupling capacitor, a voltage detector that detects a voltage at the coupling capacitor charged by the pulse, an electric leakage determination part that compares the voltage detected by the voltage detector to a threshold value, and makes a determination of existence or non-existence of an electric leakage of the DC power supply based on a comparison result, and a booster circuit that applies a boosted pulse voltage to the coupling capacitor. The pulse generator converts an output voltage of the booster circuit into the pulse voltage. The voltage detector includes an offset voltage generating circuit that generates an offset voltage.

    • A information retrieving method of realizing the improvement of retrieval performance without conducting fine-grain processing and allowing a parallelizing operation for sequential retrieval engines to be conducted easily. Accordingly, the information retrieving method according to this invention is made to connect retrieving servers in parallel with respect to a retrieval managing server through the use of a parallel framework which makes the retrieving servers conduct parallel processing by integrating the functions of the retrieving servers in a manner of directly using the functions thereof without changing. The data to be retrieved is distributed or substantially equally to the retrieving servers, while the retrieval requests from clients are successively broadcasted to the retrieving servers without waiting for the retrieval results from the retrieving servers. This invention can be effectively applied for fetching necessary information from a database retaining various kinds of information.

    • A control device for a brushless motor comprises a first section which stores a data table provided to minimize a difference between an actual rotation speed of the motor and a target rotation speed of the same. The difference is inevitably produced when the motor is rotated. The data table provides a plurality of rotation speed ranges each having data for a rotation speed of the motor. The control device further comprises a second section which compares the target rotation speed and the data table to select data which corresponds to the rotation speed range to which the target rotation speed belongs. The control device further comprises a third section which corrects the target rotation speed based on the selected data and drives the brushless motor in accordance with the corrected target rotation speed.

    • A navigation switch apparatus with simple construction is capable of operating in eight directions including longitudinal, lateral and diagonal directions. The apparatus has a printed circuit board having four conductors provided thereon with small spaces between each conductor. Together the conductors are shaped like a doughnut. A cap-shaped body arranged opposite the printed circuit board is provided with short-circuiters for making contact with the respective four conductors when a navigation lever is operated in the eight directions. Each conductor includes two opposing comb-shaped conductive layers. The central portion of one conductive layer has a diametrically directed comparatively-coarse comb shape. Both of the end portions of the other conductive layer have a circumferentially directed comparatively-fine comb shape, and the cap-shaped body has a thin-walled portion on its outer periphery. Thick-walled portions extending in the eight directions, and together forming a substantially regular octagon are formed in the vicinity of the thin-walled portion.
