    • A television receiver having a reinforcement/mounting dual-purpose structure is provided by forming reinforcement ribs and boss sections beforehand in an area of a flat vertical inner wall surface of a cabinet so that the boss sections intended to function as a reinforcement structure allow parts and devices such as operation buttons to be retrofitted to the boss sections according to applications and can also be used as a mounting structure for mounting the parts. Reinforcement ribs 11 and boss sections 12 for further reinforcing the reinforcement ribs 11 are formed integral with a flat vertical inner wall surface 10 of a cabinet which forms the outer shape of a television receiver 1. Mounting holes 12A are formed in the boss sections 12 to allow operation buttons 20 to be retrofitted thereto, the boss sections 12 and reinforcement ribs 11 are used as a reinforcement structure for the cabinet when the operation buttons 20 are not attached to the cabinet and the boss sections 12 are used as a mounting structure for attaching the operation buttons 20 when the operation buttons 20 are attached to the cabinet. In this way, it is possible to provide a television receiver having a reinforcement/mounting dual-purpose structure 1 with excellent versatility.

    • The uppermost metallic wiring layer in light-blocking layers constituted by multilevel metallic wiring that prevents light from impinging on areas other than the light-receiving area of a photodiode in each picture cell is used as a measurement electrode to be directly contacted with a specimen to measure electrical signals. Furthermore, in each picture cell including a circuit for reading out electrical signals collected through the measurement electrode, another circuit for reading out electrical signals generated by the photodiode is provided in an independent or shared form. This configuration enables the photodiode for optical measurements and the measurement electrode for electrical measurements to be provided in every picture cell. Thus, in a hybrid image sensor having an optical measurement function for obtaining optical information due to specimen and an electrical measurement functions for obtaining electrical information due to the specimen, the spatial resolution of both types of two-dimensional images can be simultaneously improved.

    • The present invention aims at providing a liquid crystal display device intended to rationalize a layout of various devices provided inside the liquid crystal display device and to reduce dead spaces in the liquid crystal display device, thereby reducing the size and thickness of the device. The liquid crystal display device comprises speakers 10, 10, a recording/reproducing device 11, a liquid crystal display unit 12, and an inverter substrate 13 making up an inverter circuit which controls the liquid crystal display unit 12 within the cabinet of a liquid crystal television receiver 1. The speakers 10, 10 having a smaller height H than the height H1 of the liquid crystal display unit 12 are disposed alongside the liquid crystal display unit 12 and the inverter substrate 13 is disposed in spaces 20 formed above the speakers 10, 10. This allows the inverter substrate 13 to be disposed in the spaces 20 formed because of the height difference (H1−H), making it possible to effectively use the free spaces 20 in the cabinet without dead spaces and provide a smaller and slimmer liquid crystal display device.

    • An image forming apparatus (10) capable of releasing pressure of toner accumulated between photoreceptor drums and cleaning blades without affecting the life of the photoreceptor drums includes photoreceptor drums (21A to 21D), an intermediate transfer belt (31), cleaning blades (250A to 250D), a cam mechanism (36), and a drive motor (26). The photoreceptor drums (21B to 21D) bear a toner image. The toner image is transferred from the photoreceptor drums (21A to 21D) to the intermediate transfer belt. The cleaning blades (250A to 250D) remove toner remaining on the photoreceptor drums (21A to 21D) after the toner image transfer. The cam mechanism (36) switches, after an image forming process, a contact state of the photoreceptor drums (21A to 21D) and the intermediate transfer belt (31) to a separation state. The drive motor (26) rotates the photoreceptor drums (21B to 21D) backward after switching the contact state to the separation state.
