    • A Plasma Display Panel (PDP) includes a plurality of substrates, dielectric walls, X-electrodes, Y-electrodes, and red, green, and blue phosphor layers. The substrates include front and rear substrates disposed opposite each other. The dielectric walls are disposed between the front and rear substrates to define discharge cells along with the substrates. Each of the X-electrodes includes first and second X-electrodes, separately disposed along a circumference of the discharge cell, and buried in the dielectric wall. Each of the Y-electrodes includes first and second Y-electrodes, separately disposed along the circumference of the discharge cell, and buried in the dielectric wall. Red, green, and blue phosphor layers are coated in the discharge cells. At least one of the X- and Y-electrodes, which starts a main discharge, has a different area from the other electrodes.

    • A plasma display panel includes first and second substrates facing each other, discharge sustain electrodes formed on the first substrate, and address electrodes formed on the second substrate. Barrier ribs are disposed between the first and second substrates to form a plurality of discharge cells. A phosphor layer is formed at each discharge cell. The discharge sustain electrode has first bus electrode portions spaced apart from each other by a certain distance, second bus electrode portions at least partially separated from the first bus electrode portions while being electrically connected thereto, and transparent electrodes not overlapped with the second bus electrode portions but being electrically connected to the first bus electrode portions. Interconnection electrodes are arranged over the barrier ribs to interconnect the first and second bus electrode portions.

    • A plasma display panel includes a first substrate and a second substrate with discharge cells partitioned therebetween. First electrodes and second electrodes surround the discharge cells and are respectively disposed proximate to opposite ones of the first and second substrates. The first electrodes are connected to each other and the second electrodes are connected to each other in a first direction. Address electrodes are between and spaced apart from the first and second electrodes along the direction perpendicular to the planes of the first substrate and the second substrate, and are connected in a second direction crossing the first direction. The address electrodes also surround the discharge cells.

In this structure, the capacitance of the PDP decreases, thus improving discharge efficiency.

    • A plasma display panel structure and a method of manufacturing the same. The plasma display panel has a front portion having a substrate having sustain electrodes. The plasma display panel has a front dielectric layer that attaches to the front portion. The front dielectric layer has colored dielectric layers made of a different material for each discharging spaces of red, green, and blue color and, colored dielectric layers being disposed corresponding to discharging spaces of red, green, and blue colors. Lattice dielectric layers are also formed to improve contrast. The colored and the lattice dielectric layers being fine pitch or high density patterned formed by a compression tool. The plasma display panel also has a rear substrate on which address electrodes are formed in a direction orthogonal to the sustain electrodes.
