    • A skate boot for use with a hockey skate. The boot has a molded support structure. The support structure includes a portion which is the sole of the boot and first and second support portions for supporting a steel runner. Attached to the molded support structure is a soft flexible sock adapted to receive the skater's foot. A removable cover portion is adapted to meet with the molded support structure to fully enclose the sock and to thereby provide protection for the skater's foot. The cover includes fastening means which fasten under the sole portion and behind the ankle of the skater such that the cover and the molded support structure provide an integral unit when assembled.

    • A ski boot includes a two-part outer shell with a foot part and a shank part pivotally connected with the foot part. An inner boot is received in the two-part outer shell. The shank part pivots between a relaxed position and a latching downhill position, in which it may be locked by a latching mechanism. The latching mechanism includes an actuating device for releasing the shank part from the locked latching downhill position. A first tensioning system disposed in the outer shell retains the inner boot in the outer shell and it is released when the shank part is in the relaxed position. A second tensioning system disposed in the outer shell holds the inner boot downward against the sole of the outer shell when the shank part is locked in the latching downhill position. A rear flap is pivotally connected at the heel of the foot part, such that the inner boot can be inserted into the outer shell when the rear flap is opened.

    • A ski boot includes a pull element coupled to a tensioning device. The tensioning device has two levers located on a bearing shaft that interact with tensioning bodies that guide the pull element. Control elements that interact with the levers are connected to the leg support shaft of the ski boot and are displaceable in the longitudinal direction corresponding to the pivoting position of the shaft. A control path is designed on the levers in a first pivoting range, and the control elements interact with a first section of the control path. Upon pivoting the shaft toward the front in the first pivoting range, the levers pivot toward one another in a scissor-like manner and thus move the two tensioning bodies away from one another to tension the pull element. In a second pivoting range of the shaft, the control elements interact with a second section of the control path that extends to the movement path of the control element. In the second pivoting range, the tension of the pull element is maintained but not increased.

    • An upper shaft part of the ski boot is pivotable on a lower shaft part about an axis (20) from a standing position, which runs approximately at right angles to the sole (14), into a forwardly inclined rest position which corresponds to the skiing position. This pivoting movement of the upper shaft part (16) when the ski boot is closed is transmitted to transmission members (86), which are displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the boot, by means of actuating levers (82). The movement of the transmission members (86) toward a heel element (98) is converted into a pushing forward of a tensioning member (90) by means of toothed wheels (94). Thereupon, the effective part loops (106,108) of the tensioning element (102), which are guided around the tensioning member (90), are shortened. When the upper shaft part (16) is in the rest position, the foot is consequently retained by the retaining element (96) and the heel cap (100). When the upper shaft part (16) is pivoted back into the standing position, the foot is free inside the ski boot.

    • There is provided a ski boot wherein a support element in the interior of the boot shaft acts on an inner boot in the area of the skier's instep. A pulling element forms a first partial loop which is guided across the front end region of the support element and extends from there against the sole of the boot and is reversed in the sole in a way such that its segments run into an adjustment nut from the back. A second partial loop is guided across the top end region of the support element and extends to guide elements of a heel cap and is guided from there with an intersection or cross-over to the adjustment nut. The nut is seated on a spindle which is rotatable by means of an adjusting motor. By displacing the nut in the lengthwise direction of the boot toward the toe, the size of the two partial loops is reduced, permitting the support element and the heel cap to come to rest against the inner boot and the latter to come to rest against the foot. By moving the nut in the direction of the heel, the size of the two partial loops is enlarged, permitting the skier to step into and out of the ski boot without difficulty.
