摘要： A molded insert, and methods for forming same, for a rockered foot bed of a boot, such as, but not limited to ice skating boots, or a rockered foot bed of a shoe, such as, but not limited to exercise, therapeutic, or physiological footwear, is described. The molded insert can be formed of any moldable material that is substantially firm when cured or dried. The moldable material can be used to fill in the concave portion of the rockered foot bed to form a flat, level or planar surface for the bottom of the wearer's foot, especially in the area corresponding from the beginning of the heel portion of the foot to the beginning of the ball of the foot (e.g., the midfoot portion), thus providing adequate support for the foot's arch during typical ice skating maneuvers.

摘要： The inventive skate consists of an upper that is designed to accept the foot of the user. Other portions of the upper are preferably constructed using a semi-rigid material, such as fiberglass, nylon, plastic, etc. These semi-rigid portions of the upper decrease the flexibility of the upper in certain sections, thus increasing performance. The inventive skate also includes a blade chassis. The chassis includes a lower portion that is adapted to hold the skate's blade and an upper portion that is adapted to cover a portion of the upper. The inventive skate is configured so that the center of gravity of the skater is disposed generally centrally along the length of the skate chassis. This skate configuration is generally referred to as neutral pitch.

摘要： A system and method to provide haptic and visual feedback of motion of the skier foot and the forces transmitted to the skiboot insole and consequently to the ski/snow interface. This system comprises a motion and force sensors and a haptic actuator embedded in the skiboot insole in communication with a smart-phone based analysis application, configured to calculate insole motion and orientation and the distribution of pressure points inside the skiboot, then to provide haptic feedback to the skier foot instructing on timing and direction of change in the pressure points necessary to achieve optimal turn parameters. Furthermore, analyzed together with GPS coordinates are transmitted by the application to the cloud based server for further processing. Graphical and numerical representation of data is superimposed over a 3D map of a slope which may be viewed on the user smart-phone or on a remote computer terminal.

The upper portion may be made of a thermoformable material that conforms to the shape of a wearer's foot and ankle. The construction of the boot form—particularly the lower portion of the boot form—may be varied across different size ranges by, for example, varying the fiber angles in the composite material. Varying the stiffness of the lower portion of the boot form in this manner allows the flexibility of different sized boots to be substantially equalized. A skate quarter and other skate-boot features may readily be attached to the upper portion of the boot form via stitching, rivets, or other connectors. The boot form also may include an integral toe cap having a flange or other element to which the skate tongue and other elements may be connected.

摘要： An ice skate boot includes a blade in thermal communication with heat transfer plates that extend into the interior of the boot. The heat transfer plates pass heat from the foot of the skater, through the blade to the blade, thereby warming the blade and cooling the skater's foot. A thermally conductive sock and body suit provide additional heat to the blade and cooling of the skater when in use. A warming mat keeps the blade warm when the skater is off the ice.
