    • A solid moisturising personal wash bar with the characteristics of a moisturising cosmetic composition is desired. Previous attempts to provide such a solid moisturising personal wash bar have met with only partial success because of the limited amount of the moisturising cosmetic composition which may be incorporated into the solid personal wash bar before it becomes unsuitable for conventional soap bar manufacture as its hardness decreases and its stickiness increases.The aforementioned drawback has been addressed by providing a solid moisturising personal wash bar comprising a continuous phase and a discontinuous phase, the discontinuous phase in the form of a plurality of discrete domains having a longest dimension of 100 to 20000 microns, wherein the continuous phase is a solid personal wash composition comprising one or more surfactants, the discontinuous phase is a solid anhydrous moisturising cosmetic composition comprising a first fatty acid material, a first organic base and an emollient and/or humectant, wherein the degree of neutralisation of the first fatty acid material is 8-60%, preferably 10-50%, most preferably 15-35%.

    • A method of producing an extruded water-based frozen composition having a high ice content, using a screw barrel extruder having a barrel provided with an inlet and an exit die, the method comprising (a) feeding an unfrozen composition into the barrel of the extruder via the inlet thereof, the unfrozen composition comprising (i) at least 85%, preferably at least 90% by weight of the water; and (ii) at least 0.5%, preferably at least 1%, more preferably at least 2% by weight of a balance consisting of one or more other ingredients; (b) freezing the unfrozen composition inside the barrel to form the frozen composition; and (c) extruding the frozen composition through the exit die of the extruder to form said water-based frozen product; wherein at least part of the barrel is cooled with a coolant at a first temperature sufficient to form the frozen composition, and preferably the exit die is cooled with a coolant at a temperature higher than the first temperature, such that the frozen composition is still frozen but extrudable.

    • A method of conditioning fabrics, the method comprising dosing a solid fabric treatment composition comprising:(a) one or more quaternary ammonium fabric softening materials; and (b) a fatty component selected from fatty acids, fatty alcohols and mixtures thereof; into a wash cycle of an automatic washing machine, allowing the wash cycle to be completed and then performing a rinse cycle in the washing machine. The composition may also be dosed into the rinse cycle direct. The composition may be formed as a melt which is cooled. The composition may contain less than 5 wt % of water. The composition may comprise one or more of anionic surfactants, non-polymeric water soluble builders and water soluble non-builder inorganic salts.
