摘要： A transport device includes a transport roller that is formed into a cylindrical shape in such a manner that a pair of end surfaces thereof are matched with each other by press working, and includes a medium supporting region in a part thereof in a longitudinal direction, while the medium supporting region supporting a medium; and a bearing that pivotally supports a region of the transport roller, the region being other than the medium supporting region. The transport roller includes an opening in the region other than the medium supporting region in a seam formed by matching the pair of end surfaces with each other.

摘要： There is provided a first die, in which a plurality of projections are arrayed in a first direction with a fixed pitch to form at least one array of the projections. Each of the projections is elongated in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The first die faces a first face of the plate member. A second die is opposed to the first die while supporting a second face of the plate member. At least one first region is formed on the plate member so as to have a less rigidity than another region of the plate member. The first die and the second die are approached so that the projections are dug into a second region in the first face of the plate member, thereby forming partitioned recesses to be pressure generating chambers of a liquid ejection head. The at least one first region is adjacent to at least one of ends in the first direction of the second region, such that the first region and the second region are arranged in the second direction.

摘要： A metallic plate member having at least one through hole to be a part a common liquid reservoir of a liquid ejection head is provided. In a first die, a plurality of first projections are arrayed in a first direction with a fixed pitch. Each of the first projections is elongated in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The plate member is mounted on a second die, and a regulating member is inserted into the through hole. The first projections are pressed against a first region in a first face of the plate member which is adjacent to the through hole in the second direction, so as to generate a plastic flow of a material in the plate member into gaps defined between the first projections, while the plastic flow is regulated by the regulating member. A plurality of recesses formed by the first projections and a plurality of partition walls formed by the material flown into the gaps constitutes a part of the pressure generating chambers.
