    • Apparatus for monitoring the temperature of adsorbers formed from several segments in which a traveling carbonaceous fill is located between two perforated walls, through which the gas to be cleaned flows. Each segment has on the gas outlet side several measuring elements, responding at a predetermined temperature and distributed over the height and width of the exit cross section. These measuring elements are electrically connected in series and their lead-ins are connected to a power source and an indicator instrument located outside the segment. On the outside perforated wall, insulators are located, with a continuous soldering wire placed between them. Prefabricated fusible cutouts may be used as measuring elements and may be connected by electrical lines. Semiconductor resistors may also be so used. Each segment may have a thermocouple on the gas exit side which can travel throughout the entire height of that side. Separately charged ntirogen lines may be provided for cooling.

    • The lamellar focal-plane shutter for monocular mirror reflex cameras comprises a swivelling viewfinder mirror and shutter blades returning automatically to their starting positions after each exposure operation. The intrinsically stationary end of an opening spring which is connected to an opening lever is fastened to a first tensioning plate and the intrinsically stationary end of a closing spring, which is connected to a closing lever, is fastened to a second tensioning plate. Both tensioning plates are interconnected by a coupling rod which is tensioned against the action of a return spring upon the winding and cocking action of the camera. The rod is held in this tensioned position by a detent lever which can be actuated for the release of the coupling rod by means of a releasing arm which is moved back to its start position when the viewfinder mirror returns to the observing position.

    • A method for removing by adsorption undesirable components such as sulphur dioxide, from waste gases, particularly flue gas. Activated carbon is located between two perforated walls. The flue gas to be cleaned, traverses the activated carbon. During shutdown or low-load operation of the plant, the flue gas is already cleaned in the adsorber or still remaining in the associated apparatus section, are fed back and are passed once more through the activated carbon. The fed-back flue gases may be cooled before being passed once more through the activated carbon. An inert gas at a pressure substantially above atmospheric may be injected in the adsorber installation. The temperature and/or the oxygen content of the fed-back flue gas is monitored. The activated carbon fill is divided by heat-insulated partitions into individual sections which are charged separately with fed-back flue gas.

    • An apparatus for thermal regeneration of loaded adsorbents by a hot solid heat carrier consisting of a container having a head and a base. The head holds feed pipes for the adsorbent and the heat carriers and the base has a discharge unit. A bottom arrangement of pipes is located underneath these feed pipes. A gas feed duct is located outside this container and connected to the bottom arrangement of pipes which has gas outlet nozzles. The pipes in this bottom arrangement of pipes are spaced apart by a multiple of the grain diameter of the absorbents and the heat carrier. The gas outlet nozzles may be directed downwardly. Outlet connections for desorption gas in the head may lead to the gas feed duct. The bottom arrangement of pipes may be located in the upper portion of the container and a filling level meter may be electrically connected through a regulating circuit to the discharge unit above the bottom arrangement of pipes. The feed pipe for the adsorbent may protrude into the layer above the bottom arrangement of pipes. A dust separator may be located in the head in front of the opening of the outlet connection for the desorption gas.

    • The device bends pipes into a serpentine pipe bank having right-hand and left-hand bends, with the pipe being held, during the bending operation, in a bending rail and the pipe end to be bent being clamped in a bending form. The bending rail and the bending form are mounted in a cylindrical frame which is rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the pipe to be bent. After each formation of two 90.degree. bends, or one 180.degree. bend, the frame is rotated through 180.degree. with the pipe remaining stationary and with the bending rail and bending form completely disengaged from the pipe. The bending rail is adjustable in the frame to fixed positions in accordance with the diameter of the pipe to be bent, and the bending form, together with clamping jaws associated therewith, is pivotally mounted in the frame for swinging about an axis perpendicular to the axis of the pipe. The bending form and the associated clamping jaws are divided, in the plane of the pipe axis, into two form parts which are moved toward and away from each other by respective cylinders to clamp and to disengage the pipe. Successive pipes are removed from a pipe magazine by a measuring carriage which grips the removed pipe and remains gripped thereto during the bending operation. The cylindrical frame has a radial recess receiving the pipe bank during the bending operation, with the pipe bank being supported on a support table.
