    • A lever protects against inadvertent release of a magazine of a firearm if its ambidextrous release is hit by equipment when the firearm is carried. The lever is made from a projection, above the pivot point, having two opposing angles forward of the depression surface. The projection impacts the equipment before the depression surface is impacted (straight-on impact), which protects the assembly from inadvertent release of the magazine. An impact to the rear angle of the projection (a rear impact) increases the engagement of the lever with the magazine. An impact along the forward angle (from the front or straight-on) of the projection also serves to increase engagement of the lever with the magazine. The lever, with its projection having opposing angles, is specifically designed to protect the lever of an ambidextrous magazine catch from inadvertent release by impact/snag in the field.

The lubrication system may provide different levels of lubrication based on the operational status (e.g., standby mode or emergency power generation mode) of the backup system. For example, during periods of inactivity (e.g., standby mode), the lubrication system may intermittently apply the air/oil mixture to the bearings to compensate for oil burn-off and to ensure efficient transfer of power during backup power system startup. When the backup system is activated, the lubrication system may continuously apply the air/oil mixture to the bearings at a rate determined by the loading on the backup system.

    • The present invention relates to the field of tools used to modify the magazines of firearms. A die and anvil are configured to engage and form the lips of magazines, like that of the M16A4 and M4A1, to correct damage and enhance the feed angle of rounds to improve feeding and accuracy. The die and anvil are provided with a means to align them during the forming process to minimize the attempts necessary to complete the forming process. The anvil is configured to enter from the base of a magazine and to engage the side walls with sufficient tolerance to allow for free movement, but tight enough to detect deformation in the side walls. The anvil can be used as a rigid surface to correct deformation of the side walls with a non-marring tool. The preferred embodiment provides sufficient force to form the feed lips of the magazine without the need for additional tools.

    • The present invention relates to hardware used to secure slings to firearms. In particular, to hardware used to secure slings to firearms like that of the M16A2 and M4 Carbine that are fitted with a Picatinny type rail and collapsible buttstock. A wedge/yoke assembly is used to secure an end of a sling to the firearm on a rail and a rotational ring assembly is used to secure an end of a sling to the extension tube of the lower receiver. Both assemblies are designed to be installed quickly without the use of tools and without modification to the firearm. This hardware provides for ambidextrous attachment of a tactical sling to the firearm giving the user a “hands free” capability and allowing for engagement of targets when firing from a “weak hand” posture.
