摘要： A direct connect telephone line interface which includes a solid state off hook phone line load is disclosed. The solid state off hook phone line load utilizes an active semiconductor device coupleable between the phone lines, with the control input to the active semiconductor device being coupled to a bias circuit operative from the voltage across the phone lines to bias the active semiconductor device in saturation as a result of an answer voltage on the phone lines. The bias circuit is frequency selective so that the bias point of the active semiconductor device is substantially independent of information signals on the telephone line. Thus the active semiconductor device, in combination with any impedance in series therewith to set the desired answer load on the telephone lines, provides the desired load impedance on the lines to maintain the connection, but at the same time provides a very high impedance to the AC signals (communication signals) on the line so as to not attenuate the communication signals subsequently coupled to an isolation transformer. This allows the reduction in the size of the isolation transformer normally used in such interfaces without requiring a separate, relatively large holding coil.

摘要： A portable lightweight angle grinder is disclosed having a motor housing with a handgrip and throttle lever, a rotary air motor driving a motor spindle, an elongated air-cooled tubular extension housing adjustably mounted on said motor housing, a work spindle near the end of said extension, toothed pulleys on the work spindle and the motor spindle, and an endless neoprene belt within said extension housing with teeth that mesh with the teeth of said pulleys. The unique toothed belt drive requires no lubrication, operates efficiently at speeds up to 25,000 revolutions per minute and at least twice that normally used in conventional angle grinders using gear drives, and can be maintained in service at a fraction of the cost of the prior devices.

摘要： A light source having a lamp envelope with electrodes positioned therein a predetermined distance apart. A gaseous medium is provided within the envelope which has a predetermined pressure for providing a minimum duration maximum intensity output light pulse characteristic of the gaseous medium when a voltage pulse of comparable duration is applied across the electrodes to ionize the gaseous medium. The voltage pulse is provided by a pulseforming circuit which is adapted to be changed to a predetermined voltage from a source of electrical energy to generate the voltage pulse having a time duration comparable to the duration of the output light pulse. A circuit is also provided for periodically connecting the pulse-forming circuit to the electrodes to discharge the voltage pulse through the gaseous medium.
