    • The invention provides a novel method for manufacturing a heat insulating sash bar comprising two face members connected together with two connecting members formed of a heat insulating material which is pourable and is cured or solidified after impregnating the space between the face members of a bar material of, for example, aluminum composed of two oppositely positioned face members connected together with at least one inner connecting part to have, for example, a H-wise cross section and provided with one or two pairs of inwardly extending flanges each on one of the face members. A belt-like strip of sheet made of a heat insulating material is placed on and bridging a pair of the flanges to form a groove-like channel with the strip as the bottom and the face members as the side walls and, after filling the groove-like channel with the pourable heat insulating material to connect the face members, the inner connecting part is at least partly cut off over whole length to thermally isolate the face members from each other. Thereafter, another strip of sheet is placed on and bridging the other pair of the flanges to form a second groove-like channel including the sections of the inner connecting part cut off and the second groove-like channel is filled with the pourable heat insulating material to cover and protect the sections of the inner connecting part from corrosion by the atmospheric influence.

    • A method and an apparatus for continuously filling grooves in metal sash bars with heat insulating synthetic resin are disclosed. The method comprises the steps of closing the opposite ends of the groove of each of the metal sash bars by end caps each having an end wall with a thinned top edge; continuously moving the metal sash bars through a path below an injection device with the grooves facing upwardly and with at least the top edges of the end caps of one preceding sash bar and the succeeding sash bar in close contact with each other on the upstream of the injection device; and continuously injecting a solution of the heat insulating synthetic resin from the injecting device into the grooves of the sash bars at a constant injecting rate while continuously moving the sash bars.The apparatus comprises: a means for attaching end caps to opposite ends of the groove of each of the metal sash bars to close the opposite ends, the cap each having an end wall with a thinned top edge; and injection device positioned downstream of the cap attaching means for continuously injecting a solution of the heat insulating synthetic resin; a feed device positioned near the injection device for continuously moving the sash bars along a path below the injection device with the grooves facing upwardly; and a rapid feed device positioned upstream of the feed device for moving a succeeding sash bar toward the preceding sash bar which is being injected with the solution of heat insulating synthetic resin at a higher rate than that by the feed device so that at least the top edges of the end caps of the preceding sash bar and the succeeding sash bar are in close contact with each other.

    • An emergency opening slider to be mounted, in addition to the usual fastener slider, in any selected position on interlocked rows of fastener elements to permit the fastener to be forced open from the selected position in an emergency. The slider body has a guide channel therethrough which consists of contracted terminal portions at both ends and an expanded midportion, with the latter portion divided into a pair of branch channels where the rows of fastener elements are incapable of interlocking engagement.     • A method of manufacturing a thermally insulating sash bar from an elongated hollow metallic sash bar including a pair of spaced outer members connected by a pair of spaced first and second inner members so as to define between the outer members a pair of longitudinally extending first and second channels and a longitudinally extending hollow chamber. A mass of foamable and thermally insulating synthetic resin is introduced into the first channel and then cured to fill the latter with the cured or thermally insulating synthetic resin. Then, a longitudinal gap is formed in and along each of the first and second inner members. The longitudinal gap in the second inner member is covered with a thermally insulating strip. Finally, a mass of the foamable and thermally insulating synthetic resin is introduced into the second channel and then cured to fill the latter with the cured or foamed thermally insulating synthetic resin.
