    • Disclosed herein is a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display device of dropping liquid crystals to be interposed between a first substrate and a second substrate to one of the substrates. The method includes a step of applying the sealant to one of the substrates where a region closed by the sealant is formed by a sealant on the main surface of the substrate, and, in this closed region, a liquid crystal filling region as a display region and a capturing region to the outer periphery of the liquid crystal filling region for intaking surplus liquid crystals or voids are formed.

    • Disclosed herein is a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display device of dropping liquid crystals to be interposed between a first substrate and a second substrate to one of the substrates. According to this method, there is provided a leakage channel formed between the liquid crystal filling region and the capturing region just after the combining of the substrates to the capturing region and through which surplus liquid crystals dropped in the liquid crystal filling region are caused to flow out, whereby the cell gap spacing the substrates can be accurately kept at an ideal value, irrespective of the fluctuation of the amount of the liquid crystals dropped to one of them.
