    • A vehicle door opening-closing device which enables a reduction in the time for releasing a fully closed condition of the vehicle door without changing the driving force and the driving speed of the actuator when operating a vehicle door from a half closed condition to the fully closed condition and when releasing the fully closed condition. A latch mechanism includes a latch engageable with a striker and an engagement member for maintaining the latch at a condition for operating the vehicle door to the half closed condition and the fully closed condition. An operation mechanism operated by a motor operates the latch by way of a closing lever and operates the engagement member by way of an opening lever based on operation of an operation member. The opening lever possess a smaller lever ratio than the lever ratio of the closing lever.

    • A vehicle lifting jack assembly having a pantographic mechanism carrying a head bracket for engagement with a jack point formed in a vehicle body. The head bracket is formed with a first groove extending in one direction for accommodating a downwardly projecting flange portion of the vehicle body so that the head bracket can be engaged with a lower surface portion of the vehicle body at the opposite sides of the flange portion. The head bracket is further formed with a second groove which extends perpendicularly to the first groove for engagement with a support bracket provided in the vehicle body for storing the jack assembly in the vehicle body.

    • A pantograph jack for lifting and lowering a vehicle chassis or the like includes a pair of upper arms and a pair of lower arms pivotally connected to each other by a metal member and a nut member, and a manually operated rod member having a joint portion for supporting the metal member via a bearing member. The rod member is rotatably fitted in the metal member and threadably fitted in the nut member. A flat contact surface is formed on the metal member and is in contact with the bearing member.

    • A screw bar for connecting a nut member and a bearing member of a pantograph-type jack includes a cylindrical-shaped bar member having a joint portion formed integrally with the bar member at one end and a threaded portion formed integrally on the bar member at the other end. The nut member of the jack is threadably engageable with the threaded portion of the screw bar, and the bearing member of the jack is pivotally mountable on the bearing support portion of the screw bar. The maximum outer diameter of the threaded portion is less than or equal to the desired diameter of the bearing support portion so that the bearing member can be mounted on the screw bar from the threaded-portion end. Preferably, the joint portion includes a flange portion having an outer diameter greater then the desired diameter and the bearing support portion is provided with a lug portion. The lug portion and the joint portion are positioned on opposite sides of the bearing member mounted on the bearing support portion to prevent axial movement of the bearing member. A method for forming the screw bar also is disclosed.
