    • A developing device and an image forming apparatus including the same includes an agitating and conveying unit that receives a developer, and at least one agitating and conveying member to mix and agitate the developer and convey the developer in a developer conveying direction. A developing roller faces a photosensitive drum on which an electrostatic latent image is formed, and attaches the developer to an outer surface of the developing roller. The agitating and conveying member includes a support shaft extending in the developer conveying direction. A plurality of agitation wings disposed on an outer surface of the support shaft to mix and agitate the developer. At least one paddle protrudes from the support shaft in a radial direction and extends along the shaft between adjacent agitation wings. The at least one paddle has a height increasing from an upstream side to a downstream side of the developer conveying direction.

    • An image forming apparatus including a developing device includes: a housing for housing a developer that includes a carrier and a toner; a development sleeve that is installed rotatably in the housing and is cylindrical and; and a layer regulator installed in the housing in such a way that an end of the layer regulator is spaced apart from an outer circumference surface of the development sleeve, wherein the layer regulator has a stacked structure including a non-magnetic material layer as a substrate, a resin layer for aiding electrifying of the toner by the carrier, and a magnetic material layer for regulating uniformity of the developer. Thus, the developing device is fabricated by using a simple process with sustainable straightness of the layer regulator even when the layer regulator operates and without formation of a step or a space between a magnetic material and a non-magnetic material.

    • The present invention provides a gas analyzer that can be miniaturized and detect a wide variety of gases with high sensitivity, and a method of gas analysis. A separation column 16 is configured so as to pass a sample gas together with a carrier gas through the inside thereof. A surface acoustic wave device 17 has a base material 21 with an annularly continuous annular surface formed of at least apart of a spherical surface; a surface acoustic wave generating means 22 capable of generating a surface acoustic wave that propagates along the annular surface; and a plurality of reaction parts 23 provided along the annular surface so as to change a predetermined physical quantity of the surface acoustic wave in response to the components of the sample gas. The surface acoustic wave device 17 is arranged so that the sample gas passing through the separation column 16 is reacted with the reaction parts 23. The measuring part 18 can measure a physical quantity of the surface acoustic wave propagating along the annular surface, and the components of the sample gas can be analyzed on the basis of the measured physical quantity.
