摘要： A developer layer thickness regulating device includes a blade member for regulating a thickness of a layer of a developer on a surface of a developing roller rotatably supported by a developing container for accommodating the developer and includes a supporting member for supporting the blade member. The supporting member is capable of being fastened to a part of the developing container by a fastening member, and a position of the supporting member relative to a part of the developer container is adjustable with respect to a widthwise direction of the blade member, when the supporting member is fastened to the developing container by the fastening member, so as to fasten the blade member at a predetermined position relative to the developing container. The supporting member has a projection-recess portion which is capable of biting into the part of the developing container when the supporting member is fastened by the fastening member.

An internal seal is disposed laterally inward of the grease with a portion thereof sandwiched between the back surface of the leaf spring member and the blade opposed portion of the upper seal. This can prevent the grease from overflowing laterally inward from the gap among the back-side member, the leaf spring member and the upper seal, and can also prevent a toner from entering into a gap among the back-side member, the leaf spring member and the upper seal, thereby preventing the oil content of the grease from mixing into the toner.

摘要： A cartridge includes a developing roller that contacts a photosensitive member along an axial direction thereof and carries and supplies a developing agent to the photosensitive member. A developing agent regulating device is provided in the cartridge to regulate an amount of developing agent provided on the developing roller. The developing agent regulating device may be configured and/or positioned so as to provide an increased amount per unit area of developing agent toward a middle portion of the developing roller as compared with the amount per unit area provided at end portions of the developing roller in an axial direction thereof. This type of arrangement also can reduce variations in a rubbing amount of the photosensitive drum due to warp of the developing roller when a surface of the photosensitive drum is rubbed with developing agent carried by the developing roller.
