摘要： A fiber-made surface fastener having on its back a covering of soft fiber yarns excellent in softness and in a function and durability as a surface fastener and including a multiplicity of engaging elements woven or knitted simultaneously with weaving or knitting of a substrate woven or knitted fabric (10) and projecting from a surface of the same woven or knitted fabric (10). Warp yarns (11 to 17, 111, 114) of the substrate woven or knitted fabric (10) contain finished yarns (15, 114) partially. The finished yarns (15, 114) are woven or knitted into the substrate woven or knitted fabric (10) such that the yarn floating from a rear surface of the same substrate woven or knitted fabric (10) and a substantially entire surface of the rear surface of the substrate woven or knitted fabric (10, 110) is covered with the same finished yarns (15, 114). Preferably, these finished yarns (15, 114) are bulky finished yarns composed of multifilaments.

摘要： A surface fastener including a woven fabric having a number of interlocking elements projecting from one surface of said woven fabric, at least two round cords disposed adjacent to the interlocking elements and woven at regular intervals as the woven fabric are woven in such a condition that the round cords are longitudinally tensed and have a smaller height than the interlocking elements and are disposed in an exposed condition on the surface of the woven fabric. And flat attachment portions devoid of interlocking elements are disposed in juxtaposition with the round cords on outer sides of the round cords opposite to the interlocking elements. A number of round cords may be disposed on the woven fabric. The thus woven round cords are made rigid and highly resistant to compression or crush. With the round cords thus provided, the interlocking elements can provide a great fastening force over a prolonged period of use. By virtue of the flat attachment portion, the surface fastener can be readily attached by sewing to an article.

摘要： A finishing method for obtaining a fiber surface fastener, said method being capable of, with simple processes, firmly fixing entangling portions between a foundation cloth composed of knitted/woven structure or nonwoven fabric and base portions of engaging elements, further, the finishing method being capable of preventing coating agent from adhering to or solidifying on the protruding surfaces of the engaging elements, said surface fastener having excellent softness. While a fiber surface fastener in which a plurality of engaging elements are formed on a foundation cloth thereof is conveyed continuously, powdery hot-melt adhesive is applied to its engaging element formation face from a separate position, the surface fastener is heated at a temperature higher than a melting point of said adhesive for a required time so that the adhesive applied is melted between the base portions of the engaging elements and the foundation cloth, and then said surface fastener is cooled.
