    • A panel-type input device including a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate and an intermediate layer fixing the first electrode plate to the second electrode plate. The first electrode plate includes a first substrate and a first conductive coat on the first substrate. The second electrode plate includes a second substrate and a second conductive coat on the second substrate, the second conductive coat being formed by using a conducting polymer. The intermediate layer is provided along outer edges of mutually opposed first and second conductive coats and ensures a spacing distance therebetween. The first and second electrode plates have a frame area including a region in which the intermediate layer is provided, and an input-permissible area surrounded by the frame area. When the panel-type input device is attached to an object with the first electrode plate being laid on the object, the second electrode plate is disposed in such a manner that an outer peripheral portion of the input-permissible area, adjoining the frame area, is exposed so as to permit an input operation.

    • The present invention relates to a resistive-film type touch panel using a transparent conductive polymer film as a transparent electrode film. The touch panel includes a transparent resin sheet and a glass substrate having an ITO film formed thereon. After a solution having a transparent conductive polymer dispersed in a solvent is applied to the undersurface of the transparent resin sheet, the solution is heated and dried in order to form a transparent conductive polymer film. The ITO film and transparent conductive polymer film serve as transparent electrode films that are opposed to each other. When the transparent resin sheet is pressed, the films touch each other. Consequently, a change in resistance corresponding to the pressed position can be detected.

    • A touch panel includes: a transparent substrate on which surface acoustic wave is propagated; a transmission/reception unit that is formed in peripheral regions on the transparent substrate, each two of the peripheral regions facing each other, and transmit and receive the surface acoustic wave; a detecting unit that detects the location of an object touching a predetermined operation area; and a sheet member that faces the transparent substrate, with a space layer being interposed in between, and has first protrusions formed on a substrate-facing surface that faces the transparent substrate. In this touch panel, the substrate-facing surface of the sheet member is not brought into contact with the transparent substrate when an object does not touch the operation area, and the substrate-facing surface of the sheet member is brought into contact with the transparent substrate when the object touches the operation area.
