    • An electrical connector assembly includes a cage having an upper wall, a lower wall, and side walls that extend from the upper wall to the lower wall. The side walls have exterior sides. The cage includes an interior cavity and a divider that extends between the side walls and divides the interior cavity into at least two internal compartments. The cage includes a front end that is open to the internal compartments. The side walls have front edges at the front end. The internal compartments are configured to receive pluggable modules therein through the front end. An electromagnetic interference (EMI) cover is mounted to the divider such that the EMI cover is engaged with and electrically connected to the divider. The EMI cover includes a flap that wraps around the front edge of a corresponding side wall. The flap overlaps and engages the exterior side of the corresponding side wall.

    • An electrical connector includes a housing having a mating end and a mounting end. The electrical connector also includes a plurality of contact modules each having a web with opposed contact faces and flanges extending from ends of the web. Each contact module holds a pair of signal contacts with the signal contacts being arranged along the contact faces. The flanges and the web forming channels that expose the contact faces and signal contacts. The electrical connector includes a plurality of ground contacts each being coupled to at least one of the housing and a corresponding contact module. Each ground contact being arranged along one of the flanges of the corresponding contact module.

    • A receptacle assembly includes a guide frame, a heat sink and a conductive gasket. The guide frame includes a top wall and defines an interior chamber that is configured to receive a mating connector. The top wall defines an opening that provides access to the interior chamber. The heat sink is held in the interior chamber such that at least an upper portion of the heat sink produces through the opening and a lower portion of the heat sink engages the mating connector when the mating connector is loaded in the interior chamber. The conductive gasket is held in the interior chamber between the guide frame and the heat sink. The gasket is configured to be compressed between the guide frame and the heat sink when the mating connector is loaded into the interior chamber such that the gasket provides a conductive path between the heat sink and the guide frame.

    • An interchangeable impedance tuner for use in an electrical connector has been provided. The tuner is formed of a dielectric material different than air. The interchangeable impedance tuner may include a plurality of dielectric isolation ribs, wherein a dielectric rib is positioned between two adjacent signal and/or ground contacts. The tuner may also include at least one impedance adjusting metal insert and at least one insert receptacle for slidably receiving the impedance adjusting metal insert. Each impedance adjusting metal insert is oriented parallel to a portion of the contacts. Further, each impedance adjusting metal insert overlaps a portion of one of the differential pairs. A shell covering the housing and the tuner. The shell opens to allow removal of the tuner is also provided. Upon removal of one tuner, a different tuner, having different impedance controlling characteristics may be positioned within the cavity of the electrical connector.
